Guys,

Don't forget about the draft at 7:15 on yahoo tonight...Hopefully everyone shows up because I hate when teams autodraft.

Anyway, I also wanted to propose something to keep the league interesting and teams focused on it all year.

What about if we all paid 15 bucks through paypal or something like that to Naptown for an entry fee and he decides to divide the pot for who wins the regular season/post season.

I love the game, but too many people just forget about it in August and it ruins it for everyone.

What are member's of the league's thoughts on this?

I'm indifferent on the money. I won't be one that doesn't pay attention, but I understand what you're saying. I'll do whatever....

I would certainly be cool with throwing in a little coin...If everyone is on board with it I would be glad to do it....Even if it isn't a 100% we could throw in a ten spot or something and it all go to the highest finishing team that wanted in on the money game.

If you put Troy Glaus, Jose Reyes, Josh Beckett, Jason Giambi, Troy Percival, Frank Thomas and Wade Miller together you might have enough pieces to form a semi-healthy player.

I'll be happy taking your 15 dollars. This is like 2nd grade show and tell and you think your Teddy Ruxpin is better than everyone elses.

Troy Glaus will hit about 50 HRs this season and I got him in roudn 7.

Reyes - I am not a fan at all, but he will get 50 SBs and he gets triples (which is a category that I still have no idea why you would use. But, I don't fight the system, I play it.)

Frank Thomas I got in round 20 or something.

Wade Miller I will rarely use.

Pervival will have 40 saves.

Giambi roudun 16 - lol if you think that is a bad pick.

Beckett - Dominates 4 cat's.

And, if I lose in the playoffs that is nonsense. The playoffs are luck and retarded in fantasy baseball.I will win the regular season. Book it.

I'm a Mets fan and Reyes will be lucky if he plays 50 games, let alone get 50 steals. Glaus has NEVER hit 50 HRs and he has zero protection in the DBack lineup. Giambi is a decent pick in round 16, but a 230 hitter last year is no bargin in any round.

Beckett domiantes zero categories. There are few pitchers who dominate categories - Schmidt, Schilling, Santana, Pedro, Sheets just to name some of them and Beckett isn't in their class. He's hurt a lot.

Glaus has a bad wing and no DH in Arizona
Reyes has had healthy hammies in 2 years
Thomas is out for who knows how long
Miller is a good P, but has a balky shoulder
Giambi was good value there, but not a sure thing
Beckett is very good, but no better than other P's taken around then

I also don't want injuries to be an excuse when you're faltering mid-season....you drafted injured/injury-prone players.

I'm pretty happy with my draft I think. I'm most worried that those 3B and CG categories are going to come back and bite me because they're so random on a week-to-week basis. I can just see myself getting knocked out of the playoffs by 1 point on the last week of a season as Brett Tomko pitches the only complete game of the week for either team... :)

I guess all sports organizations should do away with playoffs.

I'm very happy with the first half of my draft. I tried to do a really quick mock with players I'd like to get at my draft spots, and things went according to plan. Mid rounds were sketchier....I reached for a couple of players I really wanted. I freakin' love me infield (Ortiz, Giles, Crosby, ARod...with Tex at CI and David Wright at Util). Should be a good time.

Chone Figgins is the truth, the guy plays 2nd, SS, 3rd, OF, Groundskeeper, scoreboard operator, pa announcer and scout.

17 triples, steals bases, scores runs, a true steal in the 7th round.

You could probably find free agents that are better than half of your team. Just FYI Urbina and Marte are not closers. However, it would surprise me if Takatsu keeps the job in Chicago. Also, Affeldt is seriously not even worth having with his ERA and WHIP. Ponson needs to go, as does Suppan.

I don't know, I don't think you did all that bad. You should have some pop offensively to wreck some havoc. A lot better than I did the first time I manually drafted. Like the rest of us you might want to look through the free agents to make some minor tweaks here and there if you see something you like but I think your starters are pretty good... maybe not the best bullpen in the world but Affeldt gives you saves and you've gotta couple other solid bullpen guys. Don't listen to BlueJays over there, he's just trying to sabotage you, I'm not a big Suppan fan but there is no reason whatsoever to drop a guy who won 16 games the previous year until he shows that it was a fluke... :)
