No way we take DeMarcus Ware if Carlos Rogers is still on the board.

I agree, but Ware just might be the better pick in the long run. The guy can rush the QB! Problem is we're so desperate for a CB that we really don't have the luxury of taking any other defensive position except CB if one of the "big 3" is still on the board. Still, I'd be tempted to take Ware anyway. :hmmm:

FWIW, had the CHIEFS listened to Mel Kiper in recent years, they'd be MUCH better off... :shake:

I think we did a better job of drafting than they did. Kiper doesn't even stand up for his own board. He has Williams as the #1 player overall and yet when asked to pick he chose Braylon Edwards. I have to agree that there's no way we go for Ware with Rogers still on the board.

I'm wondering if Kiper has some "inside" information on how the Chiefs might be thinking at 15 for him to pick Ware over Rogers. Are the Chiefs telling him that if they get Surtain they'll go OLB/DE at that pick?

Someone should start a poll asking if BOTH Ware & Rogers were available at the 15th pick which one the Chiefs should select.

Hopefully our draft pick is announced in such a manner.

The Vikings take Cedric Benson? Minnesota already has more RBs than it knows what to do with. I expected more from these guys. This Mock sucks.

And not even a WR with their second pick

I'd take Pollack over DeMarcus Ware.

AND...i'd rather trade our second for Surtain and get Pollack than use our first on Rodgers.

Go onto NFL.com and look at their breakdown on corners. You will see that Pollack's agility drills of three cone drill: 6.86 and short shuttle: 3.9 and long shuttle times are more like those of the top CORNERS than they are a DE/LB. And Pollack goes 265.

Those agility drills explain how Pollack put up his pass rush numbers and suggest to me that he will perform similarly in the NFL. Forget his so so 40 times (4.75) and his short arms. The guy is ungodly quick for a man his size with excellent short area speed.

Ex NFL scout Pat Kirwin used to like a measure he called "Explosion", which is a combination of a prospect's Vertical Leap, Standing broad jump and strength reps. He says it measures a d players ability to deliver explosive hits that cause turnoevers and ability to be sudden on the field. A measure of 70 (total for the 3 exercizes) is considered outstanding, and only a handful of prospects in any draft make that grade. Pollack is one.

Kirwin said that GM's paid attention to his measure when he gave them a list of current NFL players who made that measure as draft prospects.

Now think about this: Pollack is 265, hits over 70 on "explosion" and has the agility of a corner. And, Pollack has production on the field to back it up: 36 sacks (breaking Reggie White's SEC record) and over 100 QB pressures. Screw need. I think Derrick Johnson and Pollack are the two D players in the first round that will be superstars.
