DE-Carlos Hall
DE-Jared Allen
DT-Ryan Sims
DT-Lional Dalton
ROLB-Barber
MLB-Bell
LOLB-Johnson
CB-Surtain
CB-Warfield (NCB-Marlin Jackson)
FS-Wesley
SS-Knight

The main thing this year is for both DE's to have great years, it will take pressure off of Sims, which I think he needs to be a great DT like he was at UNC when people were doubling up Julius Peppers. Thats why Sims had a great senior year. Then we can get more pressure up the middle and clusterf*ck plays in the backfield. With this we would have tremendous speed at the LB position with a MLB (Bell) that has a great nose for the ball and will only make others better. Warfield is the key to our secondary. If he can play as well or better this year as he did last year, teams are gonna have a fit trying to pick on any of our DB's. We all know what Surtain and Knight can do, as well as Wesley when healthy. This team on defense isnt gonna be just "Middle of the Pack" like DV and CP say they need to be. Thats not the mind set that a team needs to have. They need to be confident and dedicated to have the best defense in the league, because you cant always count on our offense to score. We also need to create TD's off of turnovers and shut other teams down, at least making them one dimensional. This is our year baby. Hopefully people can stay healthy in training camp. Bo and Kris Wilson will be back to help on offense, look for Wilson to have a GREAT productive year.

Also if there is anyway we can get that punter from Univ. of Tennessee with our 3rd round conditional pick that would also be a plus for our defense, considering that he would make better ball placement than Steve Cheek, or whoever we decide to bring in this year in training camp.

Is this your wish list? If so, it looks ok.

If this is supposed to be realistic, there's several holes.

1) Hall and Allen both play LDE. Like it or not, Hall and Allen will be sharing snaps. Hicks WILL BE the starter at RDE.

2) Barber isn't healthy and there's a ton of speculation that he won't be ready for the start of the season.

3) There's very little chance we draft Derrick Johnson.

Hicks will start.

Barber will not start until he's healthy.

And the Chiefs won't be getting Derrick Johnson.

Steve Cheek was cut mid-season last year.

Nick Murphy finished the year as our punter.

Actually, Allen plays RDE and Hicks and Hall play LDE.

Don't they?

You sure? I thought he played LDE, because there was talk that he would challenge Hicks.

Regardless, Allen does play RDE. That much I do know.

Yeah, I had it switched.

Hicks plays LDE.

Hall and Allen both play RDE.

The basic argument remains -- Hall and Allen play the same position. Hicks will start.

I really don't think Barber will be back until mid season. His injury was a serious one and it takes a long ass time to rehab.

DV and Peterson will not draft a kicker.

I'm not convinved Barber will help us much this year. Even if he does come back, I can't imagine his knee will be 100% until late in the season.

I think there is some wishful thinking there by the Chiefs, much like Maz.

I'm a big Barber fan. I have been since his rookie season with the Skins.

I'm also honest and realistic. With his history of knee injuries, I don't count on him EVER coming back.

Yeah, I didn't want to say it, but his injury was nasty and there is no garauntee he'll play again...or that he'll play at a high level again

His injury was NASTY, if it were the FIRST one. It's like his FOURTH.

His history of knee trouble concerns me alot, I agree, if he makes it back this year, how effective will he be.

That knee will not be full strength by the start of the season.

I think Burntee will be starting again unless CP gets his head out of his ass and gives Miami the 2nd rounder :cuss:

Yeah #1. Hicks won't be bumped off of DE
#2. Your taking it that we are getting surtain (our second is gone) then we have johnson(meaning we traded up so we don't have our first and our fourth/fifth or both)
#3. Marlin Jackson will be taken in the first round. And we've already given that away.

I can see surtain and johnson but it won't happen

I think Hall is a pass rush specialist that will spell Hicks on passing downs. He DOES play that side of the line, not Allen's side. Hicks is decent against the run but hasn't done well as a pass rusher the last few years, so that's my take on the Hall signing.

Allen will be the every down starter, as long as he put on a little muscle this offseason (he was a tad light to hold the point of attack last year).

just my .02

Everybody, including Pastabelly, Peter King, and even the CHIEFS, have said Hall will rotate with Allen.

What do you think the look will be on passing downs? Hall replaces Hicks with Browning and Dalton on the inside? I know Fuji played on the line occasionally too on obvious passing situations.

I'm hoping we see Hall, Allen, Sims, and Dalton...but that would be the ideal scenario...

Yes just as soon as the Chiefs draft Marlin Jackson AND Derrick Johnson AND sign Patrick Surtain. Brittney's just waiting to hear from Carl Peterson then she's going to call me.
