"Erasmus Jones Would Fill Need for Chiefs Defense
By Mike Campbell Warpaint Illustrated Beat Writer
Date: Apr 20, 2005

At the onset of the NFL combines, the Chiefs were considered to be a lock to draft a cornerback with their first pick in the draft. But the Chiefs also need to find a young hard nosed pass rusher. They acquired Carlos Hall from the Titans a couple of weeks ago but they could find a gem in Wisconsin Badger defensive end Erasmus Jones...."

might be restricted: "I learned to rite from Nick Athen" (http://chiefs.scout.com/2/371676.html)

and here is the thread discussing Erasamus Jones stickied to the top of the bulletin board:

"Warpaint Illustrated's Mighty Mike Campbell offers up another pre-draft report. This time he breaks down Wisconsin Badger defensive end Erasmus Jones. Even with the addition of Carlos Hall, Kansas City is still likely to add another pass rushing defensive end this weekend. (Free Article)

Wow! So Wisconsin had 2 DE on their roster with a first name of Erasmus: Erasmus Jones and Erasmus James? What are the odds of that?

You know, I've been thinking: I think the joke is on us.

I think Athan and WPI are like The Onion of football sites: One big parody. We're the fools for taking them seriously.

I mean, those guys can't really be that clueless, can they?

He was the Big 10 Defensive Player of the Year. He's a solid pass
rusher who has above average skills in stopping the run. If you read our
scouting report on him, you'll get more insight into his ability.

Thanks

Nick

Carl Peterson was very clear this afternoon that no contractual deal has been made with Gary Uberstein the agent for Patrick Surtain. “The deal is not dead and it could (still) happen after the draft but we are still working on it,” Peterson told reporters.

So we are signing Surtains agent..?

I don't know if this caused it, but I am a premium member to the KU site on scout.com...earlier in the evening I wrote an email to the site regarding the issue. I wasn't mean or excited, I just said that the glaring spelling error had been on the front page of their website all day and that maybe they should think about how that reflects on their product. I mentioned that the same error was replicated in a thread on the message board started by the site administrator and that one would have to be pretty desperate to pay for "premium" info from a site run by a retard (I didn't use that word).

I signed off "Arasmus Jenkins."

Lo and behold the Athan thread was edited at 9:01 and the front page was edited too. :hmmm:

my intent was not to ruin our source of fun, but I just couldn't stand it after awhile...they are a business and no one was paying any attention to the 3rd grader running it...
