so he will be cut in either 2007 or 2008? Hmmm.....maybe I should get a DJ authentic instead of a Surtain....

that seems a bit different from the early reports ... it's not as backloaded.

$34.8 in base salary leaves $16M in bonus or incentives. Word was he had $14.5M gauranteed. From the looks of those base salaries, I'd bet a big roster bonus looms around March 1st, 2007, forcing both sides back to the table.

I actually thought it would be more backloaded than that -- I was guessing $10M in the last year.

he will have to renegotiate earlier than I had hoped, his agent did a good job on that breakdown. Oh well, he can either take another big signing bonus after 2007 or get cut and lose money.

We have nothing to worry about. Our big money contracts (Green, Holmes, Roaf, Shields, etc) are coming off the books as soon as they retire, which is not long.

If Green REALLY wants to play 6 more years he will probably have to re-negotiate.

The salary cap means nothing. Look at what the Raiders are doing this offseason. They were just 100 million dollars over 2 seasons ago.
