Report: 'James Bond' co-star says Pierce Brosnan to return as 007

UPI News Service, 04/27/2005

One of Pierce Brosnan's James Bond movie co-stars says Brosnan will be back as Bond, the British Web site This Is London reported Wednesday.

The site quoted Dame Judi Dench -- who played Bond's supervisor, M, in "GoldenEye,""Tomorrow Never Dies,""The World Is Not Enough" and "Die Another Day" -- as saying Brosnan will once again play Bond in the upcoming "Casino Royale." Dench is on board once again to play M.

"Despite the fact that everyone on the face of the Earth has been tested as his possible replacement, Pierce will be doing it again," said Dench. "It will be announced come the summer."

Recent speculation about who will play Bond has included reports that Brosnan has been in talks for a two-picture deal -- and that Daniel Craig ("Lara Croft: Tomb Raider") had been offered a three-picture deal. There have also been reports that producers were considering Clive Owen ("Sin City") and Dominic West ("Mona Lisa Smile") to become the newest James Bond.

With Brosnan on the marquee, Bond pictures have grossed an average $350 million worldwide. Brosnan's last Bond project, "Die Another Day," took in $425 million -- a record for the franchise

I agree. He is pretty good at it. I didnt start to like James Bond movies till i saw him in it and now i like the Roger Moore ones too but not too big on Sean Connery ones.

You must be kidding. Connery is the best, especially Thunderball and Goldfinger.

The worst is Timothy Dalton, crying for his life in his last movie. He was even worse than Lazenby.

Super ! The last Bond was really 'gay' and boring without any hot chicks showing some skin.

That would be fine. Moore played the part until he was almost 60.

What would be great is if they just took a few years off from the series and let someone that's a bit younger get matured for the role. I could definitely see a 40-year old Ewan McGregor easing into the role.

I think they should get Rich Scanlon to be the next James Bond.

Agreed.

Pierce is a good Bond, and I am glad to hear that he will be back.

One name that I WOULD like to hear is Hugh Jackman. Talk about putting a badass edge to Bond.
