View Full Version : Sooner or later, won't Detroit have to release some WRs?

They've got a bunch of them. 4 or 5 of them are pretty good. Won't they have to release a quality WR? They can't keep them all. Maybe we can get a WR from them? (although we've had bad luck with Detroit WRs)

They released Hakim already.

Who else are they going to release? Charles Rogers?

Add Steve Savoy of Utah to that list. They signed him as a UDFA right after the draft.

M. Williams (1st round draftee)
T. Streets (new free agent)

R. Swinton (returner)
D. Kircus
C. Rogers
A. Herzing

S. Vines
E. Drummond
G. Martinez

Looks to me like the battle in their camp will be between Tai Streets and Kevin Johnson. Johnson will probably win but he'll still be the 4th best WR on their roster.
For the life of me, I can't understand why Kevin Johnson signed with them unless he got tired of waiting on us. He's got to be kicking himself now as it looks less and less likely that he'll see the field much next season.

Drummond is a returner as well.

So here it goes

R. Williams
M. Williams
C. Rogers
and two of these four
E. Drummond
Kevin Johnson
R. Swinton.
Tai Streets

Drummond had 4 games in a row tying Dante's NFL record then he got h
Kevin Johnson signed
Swinton filled in for Drummond when he was hurt
Tai Streets was a good reserve for the lions last year he was not a new free agent..

So if i would go with Drummond and Johnson will stay everyone else is cut.

Swinton is not the returner he just filled in for

Swinton is on the Texans and Streets is an FA.

Actually, I think he tied the 4 in a season, not four games in a row. I'm pretty sure that two of his returns came in one game.

I've always thought Streets was one of the biggest wastes of potential in the NFL.

i think were good on recievers...but we could alwayz use another starter...wonder how wilson fits in, I mean i know he's a tight end but still.

Why would Detroit have to move one of their top 3? They are all under rookie contracts

I've been thinking lately that now might be a good time to try and get Rogers on the cheap. He's been injured almost his entire NFL career, and his value has to be low right now. Only problem is that I'm not sure what we can offer in a trade...
