2004 Bio..

FOREST VANCE
Position: OG
Class: Sr
School: UC Davis
Conference: I-AA Ind.
Ht., Wt.: 6'4, 291
40 Time: 4.94
Grade: 3.08

BIO: Moved into the starting unit as a freshman and has been there ever since. Used extensively at both left and right tackle and named to several All American teams the past three seasons.

POSITIVES: Tough, durable lineman that could be one of the hidden gems in April's draft. Athletic, quickly gets into blocks and removes opponents from the play. Patient, strong at the point of attack and stuns defenders with powerful hand jolt. Anchors in pass protection or walls defenders from the action. Effective when he blocks with leverage and displays adequate footwork sliding laterally.

NEGATIVES: Likes to get tall in his stance and does more arm wrestling rather than blocking with his legs.

ANALYSIS: A solid prospect that combines terrific football intelligence with athleticism, Vance has the versatility and ability to succeed at the next level.

PROJECTION: Undrafted Free Agent

I can't really see someone whom the Packers didn't think enough of to put on IR to have much of an impact with us. Might be superior to the other camp fodder.

Considering the state of the Packers O-line (they lost two starters this off-season), I'd say you would have to suck pretty bad to get dumped.

PROJECTION: Undrafted Free Agent

Wow, he looks to be a great player ... so great he won't even get drafted! The NFL will let him be a free agent right away!

When you read the Positives, Negatives, and Analysis for a lot of players that get taken high in the draft, they often don't sound like they can hold this guy's jock strap, if you go solely on the P/N/A. Then they go and predict him not to get drafted (and he wasn't) ... seems to be a little disconnect between the P/N/A and the projection/actual results.
