Well, hoaxes seem to be all the rage right now. Let's see- fake finger in chili gets you a lot of TV exposure, dissing your fiance and family and running off to Vegas gets you a lot of exposure, faking buried treasure with a load of cash under your tree gets you and your buds on TV.

Hmmmm, wonder what I should do?

Got any ideas to pull off the perfect hoax? Something better than all of those lamn ideas above, and something that wouldn't land Cosmic in jail. Or maybe we can get RainMan to do it....

Let's find someone with a lower back tattoo and get them to sue a microwave manufacturer.

(I refuse to let that idea die.)

:hmmm:

You could always go to work for a polling firm for a couple of months then quit.

I'd participate but there has to be money in it. I've been looking for a good scam for years.

Movie rights, novels, TV appearances, bookstore appearances, universities....The money is endless....

You can figure that out later.

The treasure wasn't fake, but where they found it was.

Claim you are John Elways long lost brother.

I'll probably get flamed for this, but I used to be mistaken for John Elway in bars sometimes. I share the same wide-eyed look and that upper lip smile that Smellway and I both have.

I had a buddy of mine who looked just like Joe Montana, and another buddy of mine who looked just like Jim Morrison.

I'll never forget one night, when we were at Fuzzy's in KC and the Chiefs had announced Montana would be a Chief earlier that day, these two gals came up to my friend and I and went freakin giddy as though they were looking right at The Beatles or something. We looked at each other, and the girls were practically creaming their pants going, "Oh my gawd, it's Joe Montana!"

My dumbazz friend attempted to tell them he wasn't the real Joe Montana when I pulled him aside and said, "Dude, go with it...they will do ANYTHING you ask as long as they believe you're Montana!"

How about a fake "Goodbye Chiefsplanet, I'm leaving forever" thread?

Those always seem togo over well.

Those don't generate TV exposure.
