I really like AK's voice. Don't know anything about US, though.

US is "Union Station" her backup band, very good players. This group along with Nickel Creek are the two hottest bluegrass acts in the last five years or so. AK website:

She's not too hard on the eyes, either.

If you like her, also check out Australian Kasey Chambers:

Good older bluegrass group (now defunct) is Hot Rize, fronted by Tim O'Brien, who still tours:

Country rocks, but Bluegrass Rules!!

Thanks for the info, George. She's not the Alison Krauss I remember. She's changed a LOT. Here's what I remember: http://www.gactv.com/artists/media/alison.jpg

Love her. Some other good female bluegrass/twang artists:

Iris Dement (probably my favorite)
Emmylou Harris (classic)
Gillian Welch (her voice is amazing, songwriting superb, and her guitar player, David Rawlings, is top notch).
Rhonda Vincent
Neko Case (a little different, but very good).

Yes, because she usually has the best dobro player in the world, one Jerry Douglas.

Big fan of Alison Krauss, even before she became famous......and her harmonies on the duet with Brad Paisley on "Whiskey Lullaby" are very haunting.

She added her voice to some of the following which did very well for her fellow artists....

"When You Say Nothing At All"

"Somewhere in the Vicinity of the Heart" w/ Shenandoah

"Whiskey Lullaby" w/ Brad Paisley

"The Little Girl" w/ John Michael Montgomery

"Buy Me A Rose" w/ Kenny Rogers

And a couple of tunes for movies......

"You Will Be My Ain True Love" for Cold Mountain

"The World From Way Up Here" for the Christmas movie "Annabelle's Wish"

Yep, she's changed a lot. She's one of those women who've gotten a lot hotter with age!

I supprised my wife with concert tickets for her birthday. When we lived in Nashville my buddy tater was on the road with her a lot. Just one of the boys. We called her moms house to talk to Allison and congragulate her when she won Female vocalist of the year.
By the way you should hear my wife sing. She was on the verge of several deals in Nashville -bad circumstances and shady deals , but she's awesome.
