The Broncos are really trying to become the Raiders aren't they? Damn with the turd collection they have had this offseason I almost feel embarrased for them. But then again.

Jason Baker has trade value? Or more likely, Denver is giving up slightly less than a seventh-rounder for Sauerbrun.

Wow. They really are collecting every bit of dung there is to be had in the NFL. Shanarat must be getting desperate.

But on second thought, with all these offseason moves, the 7th that the Panthers are getting might be as good as a 6th :fire:

Can't wait to hear the excuses being trotted out when he consistantly outkicks his coverage(Despite being told not to) and more than a few teams take it back for 6. I bet Dante can't wait. :)

He's a fairly decent punter, correct? Ranked 4th overall last year... http://www.nfl.com/stats/leaders/NFL/PNT/2004/regular

Ranked 3rd overall in 2003 ... http://www.nfl.com/stats/leaders/NFL/PNT/2004/regular

Ranked 1st overall in 2002... http://www.nfl.com/stats/leaders/NFL/PNT/2004/regular

Whatever - they gave up a spare and a 7th round pick for a guy ranking in the top 4 the last 3 seasons. Nice move...

While I certainly reek of hatred towards the Donks...I'm always realistic in their capabilites from season-to-season, etc.

But this year, and maybe it's me, it seems like they've taken several steps backward. Their draft picks, FA pickups, etc...have all be high-risk gambles.
Rat will either look like a genious (and we'll never hear the end of it), or he'll be run out of town.

A majority of the "gambles" .. Dayne, Alexander, 2 of the Browns... their backups. Clarett - drafted as a backup. Sauerbrun ... he's a punter.

They've been filling holes and depth.

IMO Saurbrun is an upgrade from Baker. That said, they are both rejects. :)

Jason Baker was a reject... hell, Micah Knorr was a reject. Todd has been a damn fine punter. Take that leg, let him kick for 8 games in Mile High and you have a nice combo. Hopefully, this takes Dante out of the play more often than not.

So Shanahan traded for a kicker who could possibly end up with a four game suspension?

I bet Shanny was pissed when David Boston re-signed with the 'Phins.

agreed. I just wonder what they're doing; I mean, I thought they were pretty solid last year, so i would have though they would have pushed to make a run this year.

I'd take Rice over Morton in a second.....even at Rice's age of 65.

He's still a solid/possession guy in a 3 wide set. IMO.

Yep I remember how excited I was when we signed Saurbrun, I also remember how excited I was when he left. Why is it that all of these punters keep getting recycled everywhere? I guess that is another reason I am so excited that we are starting with a fresh talented kid this year. We will see how it works out.

We signed him as a free agent from Chicago. Being a Denver fan and knowing he was a Chief should say something about his success.

I can't wait until Hall gets ahold of one of Sourbum's non-angled punts 20 yards beyond the Donx coverage team.

This offseason just gets better and better.

He's definitely going to hit some bombs playing in that altitude, that's for sure. Probably does increase the odds of him outkicking coverage though.

That's it exactly. Despite being told to angle his punts or go for the sidelines he felt the need to constantly boom his punts way beyond the coverage team. He didn't last long with Vermeil. The guy just doesn't listen. Granted the guy has a hell of a leg but what good does it do when you outkick your coverage team and returns end up being for significant yardage? Dante has to be drooling.

FTR Vermeil dumped the guy before he even had a chance to punt once for him. He was Gunthers boy in 2000. Talk about Vermeils short fuse with kickers. ROFL

I hope the Panthers aren't stupid. If I were John Fox, I wouldn't accept anything less than a 1st rounder and Jason Baker... and that's where the Panthers wouldn't even give up Sauerbrun. One would have to add in the value of Sauerbrun as well... like an extra 4th rounder or something
