I had a really good day. I didn't get my laundry completely done, my bathroom will have to wait until tomorrow, and I never did leave the apartment to run errands. So why was it good? I ordered pizza, watched a movie (National Treasure is good), then read some on a book that I've been putting off. Sometimes, I think I get so caught up in the hustle-bustle of day-to-day life, that I don't really take time to enjoy simple pleasures. My username is luv2rite, yet I haven't stopped for long enough to write much of anything lately. My goal for tomorrow (after getting what I put off today done)? To sit down and do some writing, and call an old friend I haven't talked to in a while.

Good post. I just came back from my old town in South Dakota. I used to think it was so bad that we left, but when I got there and saw my old friends, I just wanted to go home and be with my current friends. Things...have turned out for the best. I'm very pleased with life.

Like they say, "You can't go home again". What they don't tell you is its because it isn't there anymore.

I still live where I grew up, but even in that, things aren't what they used to be, ya know? Oh, and I write mostly poetry. Some short stoeies, but not very good ones.

Short stories? :hmmm: As in "Penthouse Forum" short stories ? Maybe you could post some of your work. Now that I think about it I'll bet you're the one who wrote the .....no ..... wait a minute. I wrote that one.

Hard to go home again isn't it ?

Not exactly, most of the ones I have written have been to illustrate bible stories when I tought preschool sunday school a few years ago. That or just short stories I would write for friends that included inside jokes and such. I would have people we knew in mind when writing the story, only I would give them different names. They loved deciphering who was whom.

And poetry is not published anywhere. :(
I write it mostly to vent when something's stuck in my head or to get something off my chest. That, or I write poems for friends also.

Funny how everything has changed except for the people you remember there. They haven't changed a bit. If you don't leave you never change and experience different enviroments. I am glad I left.

I was in Memphis for 8 months about a year and a half ago. A few things I learned....

White people can be the minority.
People here do NOT know how to drive.
The highways here suck. I hate clover leaves.
We have no accent, unless we're from somewhere else.
Chinese food here is MUCH better.
I am wayyyyy sheltered.

And they have 4 cancer clinics. I have no idea why but it seems like thousands in the area have it. Insane numbers.

And Chinese food in Memphis tastes great but has more MSG than any human is toleralble to...

For some reason, all I can think of is Andy Kaufman's TV challenge to Jerry Lawler, and the way he said "Memphis, Tennessee".

And because I feel like it, I'm going to be an attention whore and say, "Hey, peep these photos I took last year!"

That wouldn't surprise me. He is probably hiding because he still doesn't have new material.

I've written some poetry myself, lately. I usually write it in Algebra when I'm bored outta my mind.

Some of my stuff is just wild and surreal, phrases that don't really have much meaning, but are kind of funny. I'll write a serious one every now and then though.

A lot of my ideas start from a Dylan song or a scene from a movie, and then I branch off with my own ideas.

You tell me where that came from, you get rep and my undying affection. Simple.

That sucks....but I had a great day...got to have my birthday gifts early from mom. And of course I scored on chiefs stuff. A big chiefs banner, a chiefs flag for my truck, an awesome chiefs key ring. And the best of all, a silver tiny arrowhead necklace with a tiny kc on it. Besides buying online we don't have much of a chance to get chiefs stuff down here. So when I do get something, it's a wonderful day.....

oh let's not forget the chiefs bandaids I got from my nephews...ROFL

Ok, we're back. Heh. Now I have to go back to Mexico tomorrow in order to actually file my claim. Under no uncertain terms, the policy says I must call such and such a number FROM Mexico or my claim will be denied.
