This poll is limited only to Hall of Famers. The Bears have a lot of Hall of Famers.
A lot.
So I guess picking QBotF!!!!!!!! Jonathan Quinn is out of the question.

I think he's now their QBotRP - QB of the Recent Past.

I voted straight ticket on running backs - Nagurski, Grange, and Payton.
Wow. Sayers would be up there, too. That's a nice 80-year running back tradition.

Dang it - you caught me! :cuss:
I was thinking McMahon and could only come up with Harbaugh in short order.
BTW - the Harbaugh/McMahon ones are a joke.

No Sayers!?!? He may have been the best of them all. Damn, I loved watching him run when I was just a kid. Yes, I'm getting old.

I know, I know. But Payton has to be on there, and Grange and Nagurski are legends of a colossal scale. I can't kick any of them out of my list, even for a worthy guy like Sayers or Butkus.

If I could pick a top 5, I'd add
4. Doug Atkins - An absolute monster of a man, and arguably the greatest DE of his time.
5. Mike Singletary - One of the greatest student's of the game you'll ever find

This was one tough list. Several players were worthy of the top 3.

Red Grange is one of the major reason's (if not the reason) College football became so popular after WWI. I want to say he signed a contract with the Bears for over $100K back in the 1920's. Unbelievable.....

I think you're right, chitown. He was the feature of some NFL barnstorming tour that apparently was key in drawing fans to the game in those early days.

The Bears have more Hall of Famers named George than most teams have Hall of Famers.
If you include Bill George, that's 6. Holy Hell. That's double the total Patriots in the Hall...

Damn! What a list.
I'll go Butkus, Ditka and Sweetness. Half because of their talent, but also because of their overall toughness.

Re: Gale Sayers
I acknowledge that Gale was a GREAT RB, but if Priest Holmes never carried the rock again, his career will have been much better than Sayers.
Priest kicks his ass in almost every stat over both players best 5 years, except YPCarry/YPCatch. One area Gale was supreme was his ability to gain huge chunks of yards every time he touched the ball.
