No. Everybody knows that Hereford House is notorious for their tasteless pornographic homepage.

I thought I heard some negative press about them, maybe on Fox News?

One of the better steak houses in KC, IMO. Or it used to be anyway.

I ordered a KC Strip there once and they came out with some cheap a$$ little steak and I asked the waiter if it was really a KC Strip and he implied that it was, but I didn't believe it really was so I ask to speak with a manager and then he says the same thing so I ask them to take it away and then another manager comes up to me and tells me that it really wasn't a KC Strip so they went and made a real one. I haven't been back there since

The last "steak house" I went to was in VA Beach. I got a gift certificate there as a gift, so we walk in and you have to choose your steal from a refrigerator. All of the steaks are 3x's what they cost at the store, then you go to the back and there is a room that is a big grill, and you have to cook your own steak! The place was packed and everybody there seemed to be having a great time, but why in the hell would you pay 3x's market value for a steak that you have to cook yourself? It is the east coast, and on my block there were only a handfull of grills and no smokers, but I can't believe that concept would survive anywhere.

Been almost 20 years since I have been there. Sounds like it has deteriorated some. We used to alternate between the Union Station, Baby Does and The Hereford House. Those were some good times!

We go about every other month or so and never have an issue.
Well worth the atmosphere and meal.
However, we have been going to Pierpont's at Union Station recently. Also very good.

I just heard on the radio that the Hereford House is offering a buy one, get one free dinner special for Vets. All you need to do is go to their website, print the coupon, and bring in your uniform or military id. sounds like a pretty sweet deal :thumb:

I had forgotten that name, that is the place at Union Station we used to eat at. We had eleven sales guys that would go out and eat the night before a sales meeting. We would always get up and kind of slip out and stick the newest guy with the bill. ROFL
Last I heard, Baby Does is gone? At one time, it was my favorite of all of them. :hmmm:

Wasn't that the name of the restaurant that Norm and Cliff and Woody on Cheers liked to eat at? "The Heifer House" :)
Or was it something like Steak and Trough? ROFL

I do not live in KC anymore but when people tell me they are traveling to KC and ask for the steak house to go to The Hereford House is the one I recommend.
I will even recommend them more now that they are honoring the Men and Women who are protecting the freedom to eat steak
I am happy to see people recognize this weekend for more than a 3 day weekend.

Vicious, that is no light bill for a dozen people.
Their seafood menu is simply the best I have ever chosen from away from a legitimate coastline.

It was kind of a tradition, but you could put the tab on your expense report. Sometimes they made you sweat it out for a while though before you got your money back.
That is a pretty high recommendation, I will have to try it next time through there. :hmmm:
