OK, I have openoffice.org1.1 on my pc, It's similar to excel. On my office work station I do not have it and want to install it. Problem is , I do not have the disk the pc guy used to install it. Can I pirate a copy onto disk, install it on the other pc.

I was thinking I could but wanted to know if the server I have will recognize any of the files being written or used from it ?

OpenOffice.org 1.1 is free for download here...

http://www.openoffice.org/

It's open source so you can download it at will, but if you really want a cd, you can get one at the website as an .iso file that you can burn.

You might want to try downloading the 2.0 beta version. There are signifigant improvements to be had, especially in performance.

I highly recommend the 2.0 beta. I've been running it for a month or so and have had 0 issues.

It's a piece of crap full of bugs and holes. Go here and download a "Real" office suite:

ROFL

You know what's particularly funny - OpenOffice 2.0 is better at opening a variety of older MS Office documents than Office XP.
