Just got back from seeing it. Very entertaining, well done movie. Seabiscuit meets Rocky, but better than either one, IMO. Even better was that I don't remember hearing his story, so it kept it suspenseful.

I want to know if Fire Me Boy still think it's better than Raging Bull.

Like I said... it's different. I don't consider Raging Bull to be a true "boxing movie." It's not really about boxing... boxing just happens to be PART of the film, but it's not the focus. Boxing is the focus of Cinderella Man. As a BOXING movie, I still think it's very possibly the best BOXING movie I've seen... and I've seen it twice now (once at the screening, then at a 2nd screening with my wife) and it still holds up. I was somewhat afraid it wouldn't be as good the 2nd time, but it was.

Now, as a FILM, no... it's close, but not better than Raging Bull.

Hmmm. I looked for another thread on it, but couldn't find one.

That doesn't surprise me that someone would think that though, since Cinderella Man was much easier to like than Raging Bull. Raging Bull is a better movie, even though I enjoyed Cinderella Man more.

I saw it tonight and think as far as entertainment goes it puts Star Wars Episode 754 or whatever in the dust.

It's 10 times better then Rocky cause it's a true story.

I heard it was "based on a true story."

If so, who is it based on?

James Braddock... if you don't care about spoilers, go to the post I reference earlier in this thread.

Rausch, a long time ago you e-mailed me a poem... do you still have that? I forgot to reply back and tell you it looked good to me, and now I don't have it anymore.

Nope.

As soon as I write something I throw it away the next day. That way, when I don't make any money off of it, I don't feel as bad...

And did you see my attempt a poetry in the Gay Teen Sent to camp thread? Not quite as good as yours, but I'm an up and comer.

I'm not sure how that matters any, but anyway, Rocky's based on a true story as well.
