1-1 in the 4th innning.

Brad Penny has over 70 pitches so far... Lima Time hasnt given up the big inning yet.

Im thinking inning 6 is the big 4-5 run inning for the Dodgers...

anyway.

lets see if Bell can get victory #10, and win the 4th series as KC manager.

Damn, its fun again.

It is fun. I love pitching duels.

We need a big 2 out hit here.

Kick azz. Stairs lines single to score Angel.

C'mon Emile. Another.

Coach

Good AB by Stairs. Behind 0-2, worked it to a full count, and got a single, bringing a runner home, and advancing a runner from first to 3rd.

2-1 Royals lead. 2 outs. Make that 3-1 as Brown drives one home.

Runners on 2nd and 1st.

Brown's been incredible the last 4 weeks or so. The next Raul Ibanez?

He's lucky he's with the Royals. Few teams would've given him a chance this year, and virtually none would've stuck with him after his horrendous start. The Royals simply had no other options.

Major props to him for coming around -- I sure as hell gave him no chance after his April struggles.

I told folks at work today that if Lima was ever going to get it together it would be a "Revenge Start" tonight!!

Of course I also said he'd probably get lit for 3 - 5 earned runs by inning 6.

No.No. No.

He went into the hole behind 2nd, or he went to his glove side into shallow RF, (ala Frank), and made a sweet peg to 1st.

Do I have to do everything? :)

The effort of the players is night and day from Bell to Pena. These guys are actually playing hard even second of the game. I thought the Bell hire might be a bad thing but he is quickly proving me wrong to this point. He is actually managing the game and seems to have a plan where Pena was catch as catch can.

There was a mention in the Q&A mailbag on the official site about whether or not somebody could hit that Dodge truck up in left field...

http://kansascity.royals.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/news/article.jsp?ymd=20050615&content_id=1091056&vkey=news_kc&fext=.jsp&c_id=kc

Emil knows the long ball: Perhaps we were a bit hasty in the most recent Royals mailbag, nixing the possibility that a batter would hit the Dodge parked high on the grassy hill at Kauffman Stadium.

Emil Brown did not hit the Dodge in Wednesday's batting practice. He hit a ball over the truck.

"It went over. It didn't hit it, it went over," said third base coach Luis Silverio, who served up the pitch that Brown belted. The truck lies about 470 feet from home plate.

Silverio said that early in the season, Brown hit the concession stand beyond the left-field seats on the fly.

"He's a strong human being right there," Silverio said.

What have we got here, the next Bo Jackson?

"I don't want to be the second Bo Jackson," Brown said. "I want to be the first Emil."

Hmmm. This was an interesting post by BA (emphasis added):

"The biggest thing is the fact that he's made everybody on this team aware that the veterans have their power back.

"There's actually going to be somebody that's going to back us and restore that power."

Before Buddy Bell we were 13-37. (.260)
Now we're 23-41 (.359)

At the Buddy Bell pace, we'll pass back over .500 around the middle of August and end the season at 93-69 which would have been good enough to win the AL central 3 of the last 4 years.
