When I heard the news about Hakim being a goner.... the first picture that popped into my head was Freddie Mitchell. Please tell me that we aren't going to resort to picking up a trash talking T.O.'s mini me Freddie Mitchell. Am I the only one that doesn't want this man to be on our roster come next year?

I would hope that we would go for Koren Robinson instead, because surely Freddie Mitchell isn't THAT impressive to DV and Co.

To be honest, I'm happy with our current roster.

I'm with you. I don't think he's a horrible WR, but his mouth doesn't match his play, he doesn't back it up. We already have Kennison and Hicks to handle those duties...

I'd like to think that Mitchell wasn't impressive to DV and Co. as well. But we'll see.....

Chiefs | Talking with Mitchell Again
Fri, 17 Jun 2005 15:01:39 -0700

KCChiefs.com reports Kansas City Chiefs head coach Dick Vermeil said the team is once again talking to free agent WR Freddie Mitchell (Eagles) now that they lost out on WR Az-Zahir Hakim. Vermeil said a contract should not be a holdup with Mitchell. When asked if he thought the Chiefs could agree to a contract with Mitchell, Vermeil replied: "I think there's a decent chance. I do."

No, not horrible.
Just pathetic.

I've had my fill of pathetic, thank you.

Doesn't Eddie Kennison have enough drops for the whole team without adding someone who makes Johnny Morton look sure handed.

:pRich Scanlon was raised by monks in a Tibetian monastery. Since age 6, the monks mentored him in martial arts as well as Tangka painting. As Scanlon grew up, he was often used as a messenger and had to run long distances from village to village. Running at high altitude helped him develop into the athlete that he is today.

Hakim decided not to sign so rest easy. Mitchell doesn't have nearly the drop history of Hakim. Then again, Morton WAS pretty sure handed, with the obvious and significant exception of the 93 playoff game.

Morton's been with us for 12 years? When did he play for the Lions? ROFL

LOL, you got me. I meant the 2003 playoff game. :)

Here are drop stats (http://snap.stats.com/stats/nflinfo/index.asp) from the last two seasons for comparision:

Drops Throws Drop % Drops Throws Drop % Drops Throws Drop %
----- ------ ------ ----- ------ ------ ----- ------ ------

Morton 3 79 3.8% 6 92 6.5% 9 171 5.3%

Mitchell 4 44 9.1% 2 59 3.4% 6 103 5.8%

Kennison 8 106 7.5% 8 99 8.1% 16 205 7.8%

I'd say they're being rather friendly to Morton giving him only 3 drops last year. What are the stats on Koren Robinson? That's who I was quoted as talking about.
