I'm wondering what everyone does/uses to analyze their IIS log files. I'm evaluating some new software and am also looking for other leads.

Anyone know of a good program to use? Got a favorite?

Thanks.

First you install Apache. From there you're on your own.

We use awstats with Apache and love it. Make sure you use a fairly recent version, some of the older ones had remote exploits.

I don't know about IIS, but apache's default log format wasn't everything we were looking for because we use name based virtual hosts. AWStats will let you define what the log entries look like. Last I remember with IIS you were stuck with 3 or 4 log formatting options, but that's been years ago.

Thanks for the warning. I'm going to get this software set up on Tuesday and check it out...thanks again for all the input!
