View Full Version : Righties, come join us! The climate for investigation:
Ugly Duck

Let us list some of the indicators that an investigation might be slowly percolating. Here is the political climate as it stands now:
* 52 percent of Americans already believe the administration deliberately misled the public before the war.
* 42 percent of Americans say they would favor impeachment proceedings if it is found the President misled the nation about his reasons for going to war with Iraq.
* The Downing Street Memos... our closest allies say the administration fixed the facts to fit the policy.
* The Republican-led Senate Select Committee on Intelligence has reneged on its duty to complete Phase II of its report, where they were charged to investigate how pre-war intel was used.
* Confidence in the administration is at an alltime low at home and abroad. Most Americans say the Iraq war is a mistake. 45 percent of Iraqis support the insurgents, only 15% strongly support the US. The world holds communist China in higher regard than they do the US (except for Poland).
* Zillions of dollars are missing.
* Over half a million Americans have signed a petition to investigate.
Righties, please stand with us! Confidence in your boyz is in the trash heap - its gone off the rails on a crazy train. What better way to clear your name and get back on track than a truly independent investigation? Stand with us now and demand the truth, no matter what that may be....

I'd go one step more.
I say hang the President if he deliberately misled us to go to war.....
Hang his accuser if he can't prove that fact.
This country has been going down hill since we abolished public lynchings.

Is it 'renigged' or reneged? I think we should investigate that.

blah blah blahC'mon now Michael... you don't really believe that the entire list is all blah-blah. Considering the precedent for independent investigations, ya gotta say this list has more to it than something like,
"Was the years-old Whitewater Development Corporation and Madison Guaranty Savings and Loan thingie a bad business deal or a crime?"
Heck, thats all we usta need to get an investigation going. This list has way more stuff way more important to the country than some old land deal gone sour. If we apply the same standard of justification for investigation, this stuff is way beyond blah-blah.

I know this is going to get me blasted but I like Al Franken. I like his offbeat/dry sense of humor and I think he's actually pretty sharp. I always have. Even before he became so politically active. What was that show he used to have? Newsnight or something like that?

I've listened to Al's show once or twice. It started out pretty terrible, but he found his stride. I like his "Good Rib'n" segment. The nice thing about Al's show is that there is actual dialogue, rather than some whacko preachin' at you. Al makes an honest effort to let both sides be presented, and he tries to convey why he feels his position is a superior one. You just don't get that anywhere else that I've seen.
All that being said, I haven't listened to his show since probably November...

reminds of your election polls.ROFLNo way... you forget that I was the libbie who always maintained that it was impossible for an incumbant to lose with 9/11 under his belt. Testament to my genious, I must say. Amazingly, astoundingly, in spite of the inevitability of a sure win, your boys were so incrediably horrible that they barely managed to squeak by anyway. My interest in the pre-election polls was not an attempt to convince anybody that Bushron would lose - that was impossible. It was an evil glee that your guys were so bad that they nearly made history by almost blowing a sure thing.
And here, with this smoldering interest in a WMD/Intel investigation beginning to burn brighter, you may partake of my genious once again. Just as I was right about the election polls, I am right about this. We are witnessing the beginning of something important here... a turning of the tide, the apex of a pendulum swing, the first shuddering movement of a collapsing house of cards. Mark my word, ye non-geniouses....

A fair point and frankly if Bush intentionally lied I want him gone just like I wanted Clinton gone for intentionally lying to the American people. The key is intentionally lying. I support the concept of an investigation for that reason and that reason only.

Do you really have nothing better to do with your time?Actually, I'm happy to say that I do not have anything better to do. Since most of you ignore me anyway, you didn't notice that I was absent from the Planet for many months. Too busy to BB. So I'm attempting to blast away in the short time that I have to bless you with my radiant personality. Tomorrow I drive up to TacoLand for a wedding in Corvallis, my nephew the Navy Master Diver. Then its back to work and then back to school. I have a very short time to convince everyone that the Chiefs suck and that Bush is an idiot... I'm trying my best.....

Logical, I have to say that when I first entered this forum you were one of the posters that I found most unreasonable to my point of view. However, even though you do not necessarily endorse my point of view I have found you lately to be one of the most reasonable posters. In my book, you rank right up there with gobo, Chris Meck, and Amnorix for the Chiefsplanet members that I have the utmost respect for. Thank you for being one of the more objective members of this community. Don't underestimate your importance to the debate because you are one of the most influential members on this board.
Again, thank you for your objectivity.

It must be nice to hide behind sarcasm and psuedo humor. That way, you can keep people at bay, get your jabs in masked by "kidding" and at the same time, cover your ass with "I was just joking" so you have free reign to say whatever you want.
You can toss out all the adjectives you like, and claim it was a sure win, but deep down you know that's not true. That's why we vote, that's why they "play the games". Your back handed comments are just that.
You whined after the first election, whined all through the first term, and now are whining about the last election. It's pretty pathetic that all the left can come up with after all those "smoldering books and movies", is imitate and transfer the inequities of "your boy" onto Bush. Hence calling him a liar. You are so entrenched (how many years now?) in hating Bush, that you've been reduced to claiming that the man you call a chimp is smarter than Congress, every Major Democrat and over two hundred million people. it makes sense that you would give Congress afree pass, becuase by your logic, they couldn't outsmart a "Chimp" by doing their job of making sure the President isn't doing what you claim he is. Every major Dem said that saddam had weapons, and he did..free pass....that makes sense too, because that's all they said for the real liars two terms.
You aren't trying to right a wrong, This is just year five of your version of sour grapes and propigated fear.

Stevieray, because the archives are missing I am going to vouch for UD, he was indeed consistent in predicting Bush could not lose because of 9/11. In fact he posted a couple of times that it was amazing that Bush had allowed the margin to become so close given the huge advantage 9/11 had given him. Sorry but this is a fact not just a convenient memory UD is using.
