Why not he has given up every other number possible. He gave up a number of interceptions, yards after the catch, covering players. Hell he even gave up on a play of three.

I like the fact that Law and the Chiefs are a perfect match for each other. With the best offense in the NFL (screw Indy, they're old news) and considering the improvements we've made on defense, Law can look really good playing for us which could ultimatley lead to a bigger paycheck for him. Also, If our defense justifies our optimism the Chiefs could be true Super Bowl contenders. If Law would be considered an element in our defensive improvement it would only contribute to a Ty Law myth surrounding his impact, which doesn't hurt the reputation or the paycheck.

IMO, it could happen.

Keep Hope Alive!!!!!Hope? You've got me confused with someone else. I never thought he was coming here and I still don't. But the interview doesn't make me think it's any less likely now than I thought 10 minutes ago. Just the opposite. The only possible reason he would even come on the air in KC in the first place is in the interest of negotiations. He sounds to me like he's playing it coy, and trying to increase whatever offer we have on the table. Why else would he talk at all? It's not like free agents regularly come on the air for no reason in cities where they've never played nor ever had any interest in going.

I think that stuff about signing in 48 hours was total BS, though.

The sky’s the limit for Ty Law. And if there was something higher than the sky, that would be the limit."

Hope? You've got me confused with someone else. I never thought he was coming here and I still don't. But the interview doesn't make me think it's any less likely now than I thought 10 minutes ago. Just the opposite. The only possible reason he would even come on the air in KC in the first place is in the interest of negotiations. He sounds to me like he's playing it coy, and trying to increase whatever offer we have on the table. Why else would he talk at all? Yes, that is a great point. Lost in translation here is that Twhit plans to have Ty Law on his temp gig at PTI, and Keitzman just got him on his own show! That is a nice dig!

I sure hope RedBull reads this or heard that PC...earlier he was insisting that Law wasnt that concerned about the money, and still wanted to win and contribute.

I think that interview pretty much puts that nonsense to rest.

I haven't got involved in too much in this Law BS as I saw him as someone who would play on the worst team in the NFL and sell you mothers soul for an extra dime. That's what I said the first time I saw a Law thread on CP and this just confirms it. I wonder if he came off as being as big of an asshole as he seems to reading his quotes.

810 replayed the interview with Law this morning, and I listened to it on my drive in to work.

Let me preface what I'm about to say with this: I've never thought that the Chiefs were going to have enough coin to get Law in here considering all of their other off-season moves. I waivered for a brief period yesterday, when 610 was reporting that Law and the Chiefs were "close" etc (FWIW, 610 isn't reporting ANYTHING further about Law since he was on 810 yesterday. Normally,if something proves out to have some "legs", they re-hash it every hour on their Sports Updates. They didn't so that yesterday OR this morning).

Having said all that, you can determine absolutely nothing from yesterday's interview. In my opinion, Law was reading from a script given to him by the Poston brothers and basically talked in circles of 15 minutes. Saying that he was being "coy" would be an understatement. In other words, this came off to me as a negotiating ploy. You don't come onto a radio station in a market that you're NOT considering playing in to tell everyone that the Chiefs aren't in the running etc. Again, just my opinion.

What I was able to discern from the interview, is that Law basically came off as a whore. It's not about the team, situation, or winning another ring for him - it's about getting paid. Definitely didn't fit the "profile" from what I heard (not that it should the sole reason we don't bring the guy in)

He's going to go to the highest bidder and I still don't think that's going to be the Chiefs. Anyway, just my $0.02.....

Why is anyone surprised that Law is 100% about the money?

He was on the best team in the NFL and was insulted by a 4 year 26 million dollar deal. If winning or "the team" mattered to him at all, he'd still be in New England. He's a hired gun, just like Deion was/is.

B_Ambuehl

For all those that say we don't have the money. Someone put up a list here of teams after Ty Law and salary cap room. KC had the 2nd most salary cap room left with around $2 million left. Jacksonville had the most but they're going after Travis Henry for a long term deal.

A lot of people were pooh poohing my comment, but wait and see if I am not right. KC will not be signing him.

You still haven't provided an explanation of why you think Ty Law would give a flying **** about what his cap number is. The guy wants paid, he could give a **** less about the cap.
