View Full Version : First you get Bill Callahan, now you get a field that looks like a Watermelon.

That is messed up. Reminds of a one of those greenbar reports you'd get off the wide carriage dot matrix printers back in the 80's.

I think it looks cool. And if you bothered to read the article Saul you would have found out that that was the look of the field when Bob Devaney was coach. :) Besides it doesn't matter what the field looks like, we'd still kick Kstates ass on a parking lot. ROFL

04 = 45-24
03 = 38-9
02 = 49-13

Not much of an asskicking that Nebraska gave to K-State. It's the other way around. :)

Eh, I like the stripes. Autzen has the best turf stripe "design," though:

<img src="http://www.fieldturf.com/images/highProfiles/u_oregon.jpg" style="width: 372px; height: 202px; border: 0" alt="" />

We're moving in the opposite direction, though. We've had mowed grass in the two-tone, stripey (but a bit more subtle) look, but the new FieldTurf (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v482/vader1724/323fc962.jpg) was installed with a consistent green shade.

There's nothing Nebraska fan loves more than seeing the QB take a seven step drop to dump to the fullback for a three yard gain.

Go Shocks! Where did you end up?

Went back home, where Tabor College is, since I had scholarships offers to help be an assistant coach for the football team. But then, I had to stop going to school becuase of family issues and finicial issues.

I kid you not, private college is one expensive motherf**ker.

Nice time to start betting bold. You can't even count on beating MU anymore...We beat MU last season. Solich's talent is just about ready to graduate. Callahan's is coming in but they are baby Huskers. But talent wise they blow Solich's players out of the water. I think we should at least go 8-3 this year. 06 is when we should jump back into the Nat'l picture again. You guys keep forgetting that Callahan was a damn good OC under Barry Alverez at Wisconsin. He probably should have never gone into the pro game. And I'll state it again, according to Rival's he's considered one of the Top 5 All time College recruiters. And it shows. :thumb:

If we can keep our players out of jail and...well....alive, we'll be tough. We play you guys in Columbia or that Corn field this year?...

Down in Columbia this year. The 4.0 GPA Pre Med player who KO'd a Mizzou fan a couple of yrs. ago is now enrolled in Med school. Hell he may be at the game as a trainer. ROFL

Yeah, I'm still glad I turned down that free ticket two years ago.

You know Nebraska was the very first school to install Field Turf. Tom Osborne is their national spokesman. This design is Steve Pedersen's baby. His way of harkening back to the early 60's and the way they cut the natural grass when Bob Devaney was HC. It probably looks move distinctive from a distance than it does from up close. I'll get my chance to see it in person on Sept 3rd when the Huskers open up against Maine.

Here is a picture of the field, hard to believe the booster paid for a multi-million dollar fied for a High School stadium, but the guy also built a field house for Wrestling and Basketball as well.

That's about as good as it gets for a Mizzou fan. Hell, I think the only streak we have left is against Kansas who haven't beaten us since 1968.

Well, just hire your refs from Colorado and keep sending your WR's to soccer practice...

I understand the cost issue, the price per credit hour now is staggering to me almost everywhere. IIRC I paid 18-20 dollars per credit hour. I can not even relate to the costs now, especially private colleges.
