I'm a night owl. During the week, I don't usually get home from work until about 1AM. I'm not usually tired, so I get on here. I tend to have the same sleep schedule on the weekends. You?

Especially when you're outside in the mornings for at least 2 hours or so. That can take a toll on you, and whenever I come home from that, adding in lunch, can make you tired, that's for sure.

The company, as a whole, does several things. Collectively, it's a healthcare solutions company. Design and sell software for hospitals that makes medical records managable electronically. The production side takes the medical records from hospitals all over the country, preps them, scans them, indexes them, and either puts them on CD to store or send back to the hospital or stores them in a data warehouse that hospitals can access online. I'm the assistant supervisor over the production side on second shift.

The older you get, the less sleep you need. You learn also how to function on less sleep because there lots of things to get done and only so many hours in a day. Working in health care, I have the not so fun pleasure of seeing folks die too. Some of them well before their time. I figure life is too short to sleep away. I'll get all the sleep I need when I'm dead.

If anyone's bored. There's a 16 year old girl in the chat room.

Oh, sure. "She" SAYS she's a 16-year-old girl. But then later you find out "she" is really a 45-year-old fat balding accountant named Herb, and then it's too late 'cause you've given "her" your phone number and Herb starts calling you all the time and leaving flowers on your doorstep and refuses to leave you alone until you go on a date with him.

Hypothetically speaking. Not that this has ever happened to me. Just sayin'.

I'm not familiar with that screen name. But I can tell you that I'm not a pink-hatter who jumped on the bandwagon; I've been following them since they sucked (not the more recent time they sucked, in the late 80s/early 90s, but when they originally sucked, in the early 80s). My first live game as a teen was in the mid-80s, in the sh*tbowl known as Sullivan Stadium, watching the Cleveland Browns break Steve Grogan's leg. Then came the glorious years of Irving Fryar getting stabbed by his wife, and the Lisa Olsen incident where a player in the locker room showed a female reporter his "little player". The joy of the playoff run, being the first team to win three straight road playoff games, before getting butt#^$%ed by the Chicago Bears in the Super Bowl in the mid-80s and having John Hannah say that Tony Eason should've been wearing a dress... that was pleasant. Then the late 80s and early 90s, when Buffalo was going to four straight Super Bowls and the Patriots and Colts sucked so bad that when they met the newscasters liked to refer to it as the "Toilet Bowl"... Sweet. Back to the forefront in the mid-90s with Drew Bledsoe, only to watch that chicken#$^&er Brett Farvruruh and the Green Bay Packers squash us 10 years after McMahon and "Refrigerator" Perry did. So, while I've enjoyed the three Tom Brady Super Bowls, I still remember the pain of sucking and thus sympathize with other teams who haven't seen the good times yet. Hence the reason I hope Pioli and Cassel do well for you guys. Not to mention I have a seething hatred for the Broncos, Raiders, and Chargers, who are all comprised of kitten-drowning butt-pirates and who I hope collectively never sniff a Super Bowl again, unless it's to feel the pain of going 16-0 and then losing like we did.

Yeah, but you guys have been long-suffering, especially in that division with those other ass-masters. I've always loathed the Raiders (who doesn't really, aside from the people in Oakland... but then again, who doesn't loathe Oakland... even the people who live there loathe it) as well as the Broncos. The Chargers, honestly, I didn't really mind, until they got "good" again recently and became sh*theads, with LdT and that trash-talking QB who ain't done sh*t yet but yaps like he's Joe Montana (although admittedly the way he sacked up and played against the Patriots while injured earned him some points). But you really don't have to worry about the Chargers since they have the Norv Factor working against them there.

Of course, I detest the other three teams in the East (Bills, Jets, Fins). Steelers suck balls as well, as do the Ravens. Hard to hate the Browns and Bengals 'cause they whack it. Don't really mind the South too much, although obviously not fond of the Colts with the Great Gazoo at QB (although they're easier to deal with without Saint Dungy around... but I'd still like to kick Bill Polian in the nuts so hard that he gets two lumps in his throat).

So, if the Pats can't win, I'd prefer the Chiefs do, then probably the Browns or Texans, then the Jags or Bengals, maybe Titans... the rest of the AFC can #$^& off.

NFC, aside from the obvious teams that are easy to hate (like the Cowboys), I don't have too much emnity since the AFC teams don't have to deal with them until the Super Bowl.

No problem, rep is a poor indicator anyway. I had a high rep at PatriotsPlanet and still most people didn't like me and vice versa, and after three years I banished myself before getting worked up enough to get assclowned. Message boards should use a better indicator than Rep. Something like, maybe, a running tally of how many people have threatened to find out where you live and come kick the sh*t out of you.

Hey, maybe when I can change my avatar I'll put a Raiders or Broncos one in there... that oughta drive the rep way up. :D

It just boggles my mind that a Pats fan's second choice team could be the Chiefs. Of course, I've only following the Chiefs closely and learned more about football in general in the last five years.

 Why not? You guys aren't in our division. You fit my criteria (haven't won recently, and don't act like douchebags). You've got Pioli, who was good for us, as well as Cassel and Vrabel, who were also good for us. Your victory means, by necessity, pain and anguish for the Raiders, Broncos, and Chargers, three teams I despise. I'm not seeing too many drawbacks here. :)

Meh. It's not like he meant to do it. Besides, at the time of the injury, I was driving around Maui, listening on the radio. Trust me, when you're tooling around Hawaii on a dream vacation, it's hard to get motivated. I was, like, "Wow... they just knocked Tom Brady out of the game, and it sounds like it's serious... Hey, look at that water breaking out there, it's beautiful, no?" I was ecstatic with the 2001 Super Bowl win. The '03 win made me happier. The '04 win was icing on the cake. While I prefer they win every year, I won't cry myself to sleep when they don't. What the hell, in this decade I've seen three Super Bowls, two Red Sox WS titles (after 86 years of hell), and even a Celtics banner after a long drought. I've seen more sports winning than most cities get in 25 years. Hard to complain. (Although, granted, going 16-0 and then coughing up a hairball to the Giants sucked ass.)

You may hear TV commentators use the phrase "three and out." What they mean is that a team has failed to advance the ball 10 yards on its first set of downs and has to punt the ball. You don't want your team to go three and out very often. But you do want to earn lots of first downs, which you get after your team advances the ball 10 yards or more in the allotted four downs. Getting lots of first downs usually translates to more scoring opportunities, which are definitely good things.

The guys with your team's colors run with or throw or kick the pointy ball, until they get it in the end of the field and they all jump around and slap each other's asses in celebration. If you're lucky, your team does it more than the other team. Once you learn that, the rest of it's just minutiae. :)
