Ok peeps we are going out to eat today for my bday. Either going to Lawrence or KC. I am leaning towards Famous Dave's. Suggestions on where to go. I need addresses as well. Thanks. Looking for real good BBQ.

Oh GOD NO. Not Famous Dave's. Their meat is decent, but that ketchup sauce has got to go.

Your birthday is not listed on the front page. :shake: Something doesn't add up here. :hmmm:

Do yourself a favor. Bryant's BBQ, 1727 Brooklyn, KC, Mo. I've been going there since 1965.

Bryant's BBQ it is........Thanks all. Although I believe I will go to the speedway store since it is closer.

I give this a strong 2nd vote. Best BBQ in KC IMHO. Just go while it's still light outside :)

But their Devil's Spit Hot BBQ sauce is one of my favorites - but with the heat my Q has been picking up from my rubs of late, sauce is definitely optional.

That stuff has a fair enough flavor, but the ketchup texture is bad bad bad.

I would go to the original, worth the drive, and no way can the 'cue be as good as the stuff that comes out of that black chimney-looking smoker they have at the Brooklyn location. That's the secret!

Just make sure to wipe the bug poop off your silverware when you get it out of the tray that has not been cleaned since 1927.....

Just think, we had to walk through that neighborhood to go to KC A's games back in the 60's. But that is how Bryant's got famous.

Famous Daves WTF! http://www.forumspile.com/LOL-Jesus.jpg

No serious BBQ found there. Your in KC, go to Bryants, Gates, Jackstack and about another 100 places before you there.

It's funny, I thought that area was "making a comeback" then a while back they had the drive-by shooting right there in the parking lot, if I remember right...

If you ever get to St Joe cross the bridge into Elwood,Kansas and go to Keith's BBQ,I'm pretty sure anyone at last years 37 Forever party will tell you some of the best they've ever had.

Isn't that the shit they were giving away at the Houston game last year?
