At work tonight, my supervisor and I (I'm the asst supervisor) got presented with a card and cash ($32 each) that the employees took it upon themselves to collect. I enjoyed the card much more than the cash (I'll enjoy the cash later). It's hard to keep people motivated and make things fun whenever you're being pressed for your people to produce their numbers. We probably give more reprimands (write ups) than any other shift, but we also do more employee achievement recognition. It's hard to balance the positive and the negative at times, but I guess we're doing a pretty good job according to our employees.

We have a monthly budget of $100 that we can spend on employees for motivational/incentive purposes. They want us to use $25 per week, but we don't have to do it that way. We asked our employees tonight for suggestions since it's for them. Anyone on here have any creative suggestions? We are number based production and our shift has about 75 employees.

As much as I would love that. The company might from on money being spent on that. Have to account for receipts. Otherwise, that's a great idea!

Surprisingly, some of the replies from our employees was to do the whole $100 at once to order pizza for everyone, buy all the meat for a pot luck, etc so that everyone could enjoy it as a team. We have some really great employees.

Long story short, document imaging. We take medical records from hospitals all over the U.S., prep them, scan them, qc the images, and do document level indexing. Images are either stored on CD or in a data warehouse where hospitals can get to records online. Company also does total healthcare consulting. Produces software, provides coders, etc, but I work on the production side. Okay, not so short story.

To be honest, there's one guy I wouldn't mind showing a lot of myself to, but can't fraterinize (sp?).
And a majority probably 65-70% of our employees are female.
