BETHLEHEM, Pa. -- Terrell Owens (http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/players/profile?statsId=3664) left the Philadelphia Eagles (http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/clubhouse?team=phi)' morning practice Thursday and did not return for the team's afternoon session after injuring his left groin.
During the morning practice, Owens walked to the medical tent before being carted off the field. Coach Andy Reid said he is day-to-day and dismissed any suggestion that the injury might not be genuine.
"It's a legitimate injury," Reid said. "This guy would never do that. He's not that type of guy; he would never go in that direction."
The disgruntled All-Pro is still hoping the Eagles will redo his contract. Owens is just beginning the second year of a seven-year deal worth just under $49 million.
Reid said groin problems are a chronic condition for Owens.
"I'm being cautious with it. I don't want it to get worse," Reid said. "It's a constant battle."
Earlier, Owens made a pair of long receptions, including a tough juggling catch in which he grabbed the ball while he was on the ground and then spiked it behind his head. After his second catch, Owens tossed the ball into the crowd.
Last season, Owens had 77 receptions for 1,200 yards and a franchise-record 14 touchdowns before severely injuring his ankle late in the season. He missed the final two regular-season games and the first two playoff games before returning for the Super Bowl, in which he had nine receptions for 122 yards.

T.O. could be hurt anywhere on his body and he'd still be labeled an injured groin.

While I hope it's a real injury, and a serious one, I figure it's probably nothing a bloated, renegotiated contract couldn't instantly cure.

God I hate that f#cker. :grr:

I have to know if he's ok before my draft, 'cause if he's not there I'm not goin' after McNabb either.

Well, I already traded for McNabb this off-season so I want them to have a huge season......except week 4 of course ;)

I hope it's nagging and doesn't go away all season.
