CHIEFS AGREE TO TERMS WITH TE MIKE KALLFELZ
Aug 06, 2005, 10:49:26 AM

Kansas City Chiefs President Carl Peterson announced on Saturday that the club has agreed to terms of a one-year contract with free agent TE Mike Kallfelz. As per Chiefs policy, no further terms of the agreement were made available.

Kallfelz (6-4, 272) originally entered the NFL with the Chiefs as a rookie free agent this spring. He played in 38 games (33 starts) at St. John Fisher College in Rochester, New York. He caught 38 passes for 517 yards (13.6 avg.) with four touchdowns. He earned second-team All-Empire Conference honors as a senior when he recorded 13 receptions for 151 yards (11.6 avg.) with two TDs.

The Syracuse, New York native prepped at Oswego High School in Oswego, New York. Kallfelz registered a team-high 98 tackles and 6.0 sacks to earn All-OHSL honors and All-Central New York.

To make room for Kallfelz on the roster, the Chiefs released TE Willie Walden (6-7, 278).

That is no joke. You should have seen how big that bastard looked next to the other TE's at camp. He moved pretty well, too. Oh well, no TE they bring in right now really has a chance.

Then again, Jason Dunn isn't getting any younger.

We could use a young blocking tight end to compliment our two "receiving" tight ends (Gonzales and Wilson).

Did he get hurt or suck or what?

Why did they let him go so soon?

CP realizes the value of having a roster chocked full of Syracusans.
