This may be the best season ever. 11-4, 1.38 ERA, 139 K's, 44 walks, 0.96 WHIP in 156 IP. Also, he pitches in a total hitters park. So if you want to compare home and away..

Home ERA: 2.28
Road ERA: 0.37!!! Holy f*cking shit.

He has pitched 73 innings on the road and given up 3 earned runs. If that's not impressive then I really don't know what is.

Also, looking at his game log it looks like he might have gotten out of every inning he started. There's nothing other than X.0 IP, no X.1 or X.2, but he could have gotten pulled with 0 outs I guess. Doubt it though.

Considering the smaller ballparks, bigger hitters, etc, etc.... I think if he can keep this up, it'll rival Bob Gibson in 1968 as maybe the greatest pitching season of all time. Nobody seems to be talking about it though.

There's really not much time left to "keep it up". So, I'd say it's pretty likely. I follow baseball really closely but I don't really know if it's something you can compare to a performance that long ago. One thing I do think would be fair though is for him to win MVP along with Cy Young. I really doubt it will happen, but I don't see why he shouldn't.

That home ERA would be even lower if he didn't have to pitch at Minute Maid.

That was the reason I put that stat up.

Cards homers will tell you that Chris Carpenter is having a better season and should win Cy Young.

If they get the NL Wild Card that rotation could be scarry and having to play Clemons twice. YIKES!!!!

A 0.37 ERA is pretty impressive, to say the least.

Roger Clemons is the best of our era, period(exclamation?)! He's worthy to be discussed among the greatest pitchers ever.

Cy Young, Walter Johnson, Bob Gibson, Sandy Koufax, Bob Feller, etc. No particular order there, and I could have kept going.

It is amazing what he has done this year especially at his age. I honestly thought he was jsut signing with Houston to be able to retire in Texas. I had no idea he still had this left in his arm!

definitely better than Koufax... he burned out too quickly.

Clemens is an animal... unreal.

I'm just hoping I can still get a hard on at 43 and this freakin' guy is still pitching in MLB.

Just looked a little more into it. The 3 ER he gave up on the road were:

@Colorado, hitters park
@Arizona, hitters park
@St Louis, I know a lot of you hate to admit it..but they are a very good team.

I wonder if he pitched for San Diego if his season ERA would be under 1.

I was wondering if anyone was going to mention STL knocking him around before they pulled him.

Interesting series with them coming up.

I didn't mention that. I remember that game because I watched it, he gave up 4 ER. It must have been at Houston, obviously.

If Houston wasn't so crappy in the first half his W-L would be even better.
