View Full Version : Guns kill, they never save lives...

From APBnews.com:
"The woman awoke to find a fully clothed Flora on top of her, Shea said. She tried to fight him off as he kissed her, fondled her breast and told her he loved her, Shea said.

Flora put the woman in a bear hug and tried to drag her out of the bedroom, apparently to kidnap her. But her screams awakened her 67-year-old mother, who scared off the intruder by firing a handgun shot into the floor and threatening to shoot him, Shea said.

"He thought better of it and took off," Shea said."

Hey! Somebody should tell this lady and her mother. They are obviously misinformed. http://www.ChiefsPlanet.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

The old bag should've finished herself off after the intruder fled & saved us all some tax dollars.

Clint you never cease to amaze me. *sad sigh*

This is further proof of every study that's been done on the subject. When gun control laws are loosened, crime goes down. When gun control laws are tightened, crime goes up.

Simply another reason to vote against Al 'Gun control' Gore.

Clint,
Great idea, as this would help out ol' gore and clinton with the social security problem.

We could also off all people named Clint. That way the old ones would help the social security problem and the young ones would help the overpopulation problem.

You first? http://www.ChiefsPlanet.com/ubb/wink.gif

This isn't "proof" of anything! Who knows if it's even true?

I'm against gun control. I don't care if they make it legal to buy a 50mm cannon at Wal-Mart.

It's the ammunition that I have a problem with!

BAN AMMUNITION!!

Idaho Chief,

We could also follow your lead and banish all humorous comments that might be considered to be in poor taste by others.

IT WAS A JOKE!! I do not nor have I ever supported the idea of executing old people to lessen the burden on society. That would be wrong. http://www.ChiefsPlanet.com/ubb/wink.gif

C'mon Greg...elaborate.

I stated nothing as a fact...I freely admit that most everything I post is an opinion & I try to use words like "I think" or "IMO" pretty often, but they often get overlooked in the middle of a discussion.

Studies have been done by several independant sources Clint. Each of them have arrived at the same conclusion, gun control increases crime. Gun ownership reduces it. Those are facts and have been proven.

I'll assume Idaho Chief found this and it is true. If he's pulling our leg than so be it. The findings on the studies are still true and Gore's goal of gun confiscation is as well.

Clint,
My response was in jest as I realized that yours was also. Did you not see the wink?

Look at the post, the story comes from APBnews.com. I simply cut and pasted the quote. If it isn't true then blame the media outlet. I take everything that they say with a grain of salt anyway. I simply posted this as an example of what surveys bear out: Law abiding citizens using guns for self defense reduce crime.

The latest MO has been to question the validity of claims. 'prove it' has been the common refrain.<P>

Amazing how that works isn't it Greg?

The same person demanding proof has no qualms about labeling Bush a cokehead, even though no proof has ever been found to support this. The closest thing to proof is the fact that Bush refuses to discuss the 'issue'. Yet this person doesn't label Gore a pothead even though Gore's admitted to use.

Hypocrisy is a wonderful thing.

Believe me, I'm no Gore supporter, either. It actually sickens me that Gore & Bush are being forced down our throats as the 2 most qualified men for the job. I just don't see how that's possible.

I wonder what the liberal press really has to say about this story. I thought they were the ones questioning W's intelligence.

I agree with you there Clint. I think it's a function of what politics have become. There's no way I'd run for office in the current climate.

Without hugely pressing issues on the docket, many people would rather run businesses, work at the local level, or simply be uninvolved before they'd submit themselves to the full body inspection that the media would provide. Paticualarly if the person is a conservative.
