View Full Version : How much do you tip the pizza guy?

I'm sitting here, just finished ordering a pizza for the evening. Its been a while, and I was trying to remember what is an acceptable tip for a pizza that is delivered quickly. Obviously, the only solution is to put it to the Planet for a vote.

Where's the "I'm a redneck/confederate/NASCAR fan/mullethead/high school student, missing a few teeth, wearing a dirty t-shirt and a John Deere hat, so instead of a tip I give them the 'You're not getting a tip from this customer' vibe...just to piss off KCChiefsMan" option?

I've invited a pizza guy in for a beer before.

When I was in college I tried to get a job delivering pizzas in hopes I'd occassionally get a bong hit as a tip. Unfortunately, I didn't get hired 'cause I had a fresh CnI on my record.

Almost all of the non-chain pizza joints will make up your pizza and then just bake it for a few minutes or not even at all. Then you finish it at home yourself. I use one of those pizzaz cookers but you can do the same thing in the oven.

That way it's done to your order and you can make sure it's never burnt.

I know Pizza Hut because they have a bunch of fugtards working there but a true pizza shop will.

Lots of places will make the pie and bake it halfway. That way the pizza sets up, and you get some of that pizza oven goodness infused in it. Then you take it home and finish browning it and getting it all hot and bubbly on your timetable. That way you don't have to careen home at breakneck speed with a steamy pizza in your lap to feed the fam something hot and fresh.

A lot of the pizza joints in town that deliver a lot have a 'carryout special' that's a good $2 cheaper than any of their other specials.

Not really. While in Rolla I got a written warning for speeding, a careless and imprudent when I introduced my truck to a tree, and a ticket for speeding in a school zone that I got reduced to some non-moving violation.

Since moving to AZ I've been charged with two DUIs, but, of course, the second got dismissed.

It's amazing, really. I'm a terrible driver and I have a tendency to speed. I don't know how I don't get in more trouble.

Just under three grand, so far.

My blood came back at .059 and the prosecutor was less than interested in going to court with that. But, he wanted me to pay for *something*. So, he dismissed the DUI and the BAC over .08 charges and stuck me with the unable to stay in one lane charge (which was BS itself, but I digress). Stuck me with the max fine, which with surcharges and court costs and shit came out to be about $491. The lawyer cost me $2500.

Of course, I've still got a hearing pending w/ the MVD so they can take my license away for a year for refusing the breathalyzer. Assuming they ever set a date for that, and the cop shows up, after the year of not driving is over I'll have to get SR-22 insurance for (I believe) a year. So, there's still some monetary assf*cking in my future.
