And, to set TiVo for the NFL Network replay.

Hey Dru. What are you using to record these videos. I have video in on my new video card but when I record the videos aren't near as good quality as yours. Also what do you use to edit the recordings?

Count Zarth

how do you view these files?

You don't. You open a torrent file with a program like azureus or bitcomet. That downloads the AVI to your computer, and then you can open that in Windows Media Player.

DRU

COchief: appreciate your help. Do you have roadrunner? If so, that'd be your upload cap and that will, indeed, slow down your internet browsing. Throttle it down to 32kb/sec or something like that. It'll still be a great help and you won't even notice it. That's what I do with all the torrents I have running. Azureus will automatically decide which torrents need your help and seed accordingly.

This goes for everybody. It's an easy way to help keep all of these torrents going all year long and I promise you won't notice if you throttle the upload bandwidth to about 75% - 80% of your upload cap.

You're not running XP are you? If so, yeah you need to upgrade BADLY! XP needs at least 512MB ram to run well. 1GB+ ideally. You can get a pretty nice computer now for $400 or less from Dell, HP, etc. What are you doing with that old timer?

I don't do much with my home PC. Surf a little porn and whatnot. It's gotten me by.

Apparently doing Divx decoding of a 28 MB file is just a little too taxing.

I think many programs today are ridiculously bloated, though. Why the hell does a web browser need to consume 30 MB+ of RAM? If I'm playing embedded video or something, I could see needing more resources. But, simply rendering plain old HTML should be done MUCH more efficiently.

Heck, no. I'd be crawling. Still running Win2K here. Heck, I miss NT 4.0... but, I don't think most of the stuff I wanna run would even run on it.

I've toyed with the idea of putting a Linux install on this box for awhile, but I'm pretty lazy. I just don't have the drive to dink w/ my machine all night long like I used to. Course, those were the days before I spent all day working with computers... and, of course, before I discovered how fun it is to leave the house, drink beer, and chase poon.

If you've completed the download and are continuing to let it upload to others you are a seed. The more seeds the better for the torrent.

You won't be seeding until you're done with the full file.

Your torrent program should start seeding as soon as it's done.

Lame they don't even trust you to be a local admin on your own machine.

I guess I could see not wanting Suzy the Secretary having the ability to f*ck herself up too bad, but I think if I were an NT admin I'd be hooking guys up who I knew who could handle the responsibility just to reduce my workload.

First of all, I can't connect to the tracker to upload right now. Second, I can't really upload that much here, since there are 4 of us and there's a monthly upload cap with the shitty Sunflower cable, so none of us poor students can afford to upload that much (this is a smaller file, so I'll probably seed to a 3.0 ratio, if it ever connects that is).

I always seeded from home and will continue to when I DL shit from there.

We did that at my last job, when I actually knew the admin.

Now I'm a faceless number in a large corporation.
