Vermeil Chiefs...Seahawks running up and down the field, every third and forever being converted by the opponent...Injuries and penalties a constant...

Are we looking at a winless preseason?...

you must be watching a different game...the second half is irrelevant....we were clearly the better team tonight

Is this thread a joke? The Seahawks had under 10 rushing yards in the first half...and that's with Shaun Alexander playing the entire half. What game were you watching?

Please tell me this was a lousy attempt at humor.

Green only played 2 series....Gonzo, Shields, and Priest only played 1 quarter..they played their starters into the 3rd while we had Quinn overthrowing wide open WRs..

we were the better team...I am waaay happy with the first half on both sides of the ball

Agreed. I couldn't have been any more giddy about this game. The first offensive series was near orgasmic. The rest of the defensive series that mattered made me seriously happy. I'm honestly feeling pretty damned optimistic about now.

Check the date. It's preseason. The goal isn't to win.

This is Preseason. The people playing right now will probably be filling practice squads across the country (if they're lucky) in two weeks. Are you trying to be funny or something?

I'm in the Phoenix area and the Cardinals seem to have winning preseason records all the time (this year they are 3-0 so far) and we all know how the regular season has gone for them. The preseason is all about accessing talent, not the score. I remember under Shottenheimer we had losing pre-season records quite often, and he was the winningest AFC coach of the '90's I do believe...not that I'm a huge fan of his.

It's actually possible that winning most of your preseason games might be a REASON why you lose in the regular season. If you are winning all your preseason games, it's quite possible you are playing your starters way too much, which may:

1. Get them injured.
2. Wear them out.
3. Cause your backups to not get enough reps to be ready when they have to fill in during the season.
4. Hinder your ability to properly evaluate talent towards the lower parts of your depth chart.

...all of which can hurt your record in the regular season.

In the first half Trent Green had 7 attempts and Hasselbeck had 26. That should tell you something.
