Are Practice Squad players typically career 2nd and 3rd string players?

Too many WR (Hall will count towards the 5), drop Mitchell. Add a DL (Sharpe?) in his place, and you got it!

Line Judge

you've got Siavii in there twice.

With Bell uncertain how can they get rid of Fujita? Who would start if Bell did not play?

Scanlon, Sharpe and McIntyre I belive are no longer eligble to be on the practice squad

I'll ask it this way: How common is it for PS players to become starters later in their careers?

Yes they are. Sharpe is the only question mark. The only way a player does not qualify for the PS, is if they are active for 9 (?) games. I don't believe Scanlon or McIntyre were activated for 9 games last season.

As far as I know Sharpe did not play in any games last fall, so he should still be eligible for the P.S. this year.

Scanlon, Sharpe and McIntyre I belive are no longer eligble to be on the practice squad I think McIntyre and Scanlon can. This is their 1st or 2nd year. I'm not sure about Sharpe. Does anyone know what the rules of the PS are?

Woods is about money, but Williams is a mystery that I'm not even sure Columbo could solve.

I'd assume Williams is on the roster so they have a body to play the position for the final preseason game.

Woods is about money.

then they should restructure another contract free up room to cut him so that they can keep a better talent

talent should take priority over everything imo :harumph:

You're Jerome Woods.

Are you going to agree to restructure so that the Chiefs can cut you?

And remember, you are a player with skills that are diminished by age and injury, so in all likelyhood, other teams won't be interested once you hit the market.

restructure another "player's" contract to free up enough money to cut Woods.

maybe now my post makes sense :p

Collins is not suppose to be ready by 9/11. I'd make room for 4 QBs

I agree. Fujita is very capable and has plenty of room to get better.

In fact, it's my opinion that Fuj is exactly the kind of linebacker that the Patriots would put to good use.

Section 4. Eligibility: (a) The practice squad shall consist of the following players, provided that they have not served more than one previous season on a Practice Squad: (i) players who do not have an Accrued Season of NFL experience; and (ii) free agent players who were on the Active List for fewer than nine regular season games during their only Accrued Season(s). No player may be a practice squad player for more than two seasons.

Does NFLE figure in to the accrued seasons?

FWIW, he can go PS again if he clears waivers or if not on our roster . It does look as thou he is up against the #'s right now, it depends on how many LB's they keep.

Dunit35

I would not understand why they would want to release or trade Fujita...I sure wouldnt...hes a quality backup and a starter if needed...hes one of the few linebackers with game experience..

DT58_sackmonste
08-31-2005, 01:40 PM
They will be crazy to not keep Fujita.. He has looked good in the pre-season games, and I don't know how he can go from our leading tackler to not making the team in 1 year....I don't care what kind of talent you brought in. He would also contribute to special teams. i think the roster spot will come down between Fujita & Schanlon/Boomer

ROYC75
08-31-2005, 01:50 PM
Oh course my opinion probally doesn't count, but here it is....

I have nothing against Boomer, but what has he done so far ? 9 tackles on defense and 0 tackles on ST's.

Scanlon has 9 tackles on defense and 3 tackles on ST's, which leads all ST's players.

Fujita has 9 tackles on defense and 2 tackles ST's and 1 FF .

DT58_sackmonste
08-31-2005, 02:10 PM
I agree...they seem to be so in Love with Boomer, but Fujita is proven...we know what we'll get from him. Unless we can trade him and get something for him , I can't see us cutting fujita.
