They have an interesting list of the most surprising teams since 1968...they may have gone farther, but really I didnt care to. I liked also that they listed briefly a capsule of what was going on with the team.

Anyway,
1968 Jets 11-3 & won the super bowl
1975 Colts 10-4 and was 2-12 the year before
1979 Bucs 10-6 of course we all know how bad they were prior
1971 49ers 13-3, I didnt realize Walsh's team only won 2 games two years prior.
1988 Bengals 12-4 Icky Woods, 4-11 season before
1998 Falcons 14-2, I think what got them on this list was beating Minnesota
1999 Rams 13-3 The Warner era begins. Frankly this team sucked until 99 4-12 in 98
2001 Bears 13-3 wow it seems like a lifetime ago since they were good
2001 Pats 11-5 Ahh the loss of Bledsoe and a 6th round pick we never heard of takes over.
2004 Chargers 12-4 4-12 in 03 I never saw a prediction that had them winning more than 5 or 6 games.

The only other surprises I can come up with was the Panther's and Jaguars going to the championship games in their second year. Pretty good list otherwise.

Where are the 90's Chiefs with the best record in football not making it to the Superbowl?
