Sep 7 After competing with Johnnie Morton for the job in training camp, Battle will begin the 2005 regular season as the San Francisco 49ers' No. 2 receiver, lining up opposite Brandon Lloyd. The wideout, who was a sixth-round pick in the 2003 NFL Draft, appeared in 14 games last season, hauling in eight passes for 143 yards. He also saw time on special teams, averaging 19.8 yards on 13 kickoff returns and 8.6 yards on 31 punt returns, including one taken back for a TD. STATS, Inc.

Sep 6 Battle has beaten out Johnnie Morton to be the 49ers' #2 receiver.

Recommendation: Tim Rattay seems to have a connection with Battle and he went to him often during the team's final preseason game against San Diego. Battle has come a long way since being drafted out of Notre Dame and is worth a look in deeper leagues.

Sep 6 San Francisco 49ers WR Fred Amey has been named the team's No. 4 wide receiver. He may also return punts for the team if they decide not to use starting WR Arnaz Battle in that role. ROFL ROFL ROFL

Parker looked good today. I want to see us throw his way more.

Battle might be a better passer than Huard as well.
