View Full Version : Holmes & Johnson = Csonka & Morris ????

Wouldn't it be the 2nd time in NFL history that 2 running backs from the same team had 1,000 yd seasons? In 1972 Larry Csonka and Mercury Morris both had 1,000+ yards rushing. I know its early but wouldn't it be awesome if that happened again with Priest Holmes and Larry Johnson?

has that happened since 1972? I don't believe it has, but I think that would be awesome!

I'd take a season identical to the 1972 Dolphins over the rushing stats though! :harumph:

I watched everyone of those games I think, I would not trade for Csonka and Morris. We have the better pair by far IMO, even if they had a time machine.
Repeating what they did might be a little premature thinking at 1-0..

Mack and Byner did it for the Browns under Marty. That is where RBBC was born. I also wouldn't trade for Csonka and Morris. Csonka was just a big battering ram who was as big as an O lineman. Morris was very quick and shifty (both on and off the field) and was a scatback. Priest and LJ are much better.

3rd time. Marty achieved it in Cleveland with Byner and Mack.

Why draw a comparison? Can't they just be Holmes & Johnson?
