I just watched the game for the third time and noticed that #18 was getting some good blocks downfield. I was impressed.

they broke down our first series on ESPN last night....I forget if it was Priest's or LJ's 30 yard run, but Parker had a great block about 10 yards down field that opened up the run...crucial block, great to see....

According to mcan's excellent COMPLETE game breakdown (http://www.chiefsplanet.com/BB/showthread.php?t=123971) thread, that would be Priest's 35 yard run on the second play of the game:

2-5-KC 30 (14:15) 31-P.Holmes up the middle to NYJ 35 for 35 yards (26-E.Coleman).

3 WRs for the Chiefs, Richardson is lined up in the slot though making it look like a TRIPS RIGHT... Single back is Holmes (who is lined up about 1/2 yard too deep for my tastes). However, before the snap, Richardson motions back to the fullback spot, putting them both in proper position (the HB needs to line up deep in an I FORM).

The play is a run between LG and LT to Priest. Both linebackers read RUN immediately and swarm to the ball, but WATERS makes the block of a lifetime and clears the linebacker up field about 5 yards, and RICHARDSON pops the other linebacker square and as Priest runs by, the linebacker tries to grab him, but all it takes is a slight shimmy and Priest is off to the races. Sammie Parker makes a FANTASTIC downfield block to turn what should have been a 15 yarder into much more. Dante Hall tries very hard to block Coleman from behind but coudn't catch him...
HUGE GAIN.

I've been noticing Parker, too. He's always hustling on the run blocking. On Larry's 97-yard TD run in preaseason, Parker and Dunn sprinted behind him the whole way, which is great on that off chance that he gets the ball knocked loose or something.

Samie Parker! I hope he continues to block BUT this Sunday night, I'd love to see him burn mr. Standford Routt #26 (rookie) of the Faders, who I must note got called for several pass interference in the Pats game. Let's see Samie show them faders with his speed.

If you are going to play WR on this team you better block, and if you try to take the play off in blocking... Well, I'm sure I wouldn't want to be some 185 pound guy answering to Shields and Roaf.

Keep it up Parker!!!
