If anything shows my diversity across the political spectrum I would say this is it. Both dudes are incredibly funny and very spot on, on many issues.

Well I guess no one else likes either of these two, either that or everyone likes them.

Dennis Miller would be funnier if he'd drop the obscure references that only really smart people could figure out. Bill Maher is funny as hell. Real time is better than politically incorrect ever was and his last comedy special was funny. If I were a conservative I'd probably hate his guts.

mahr and for that matter john stewart (sp?) are very funny guys with great writers behind them...
dennis is too cerebral, his humor too dry for the average pothead...
red skelton was the greatest comedian of all time, though...

I like Miller, Maher, Rock, Earthquake, Louis CK, Louis Black, Conan O'Brien.
I like to think I have a grasp on the craft and I think these guys really have it locked down.
One guy who still has the craft locked down, but is mired in hate to a point that it affects his humor is, I'm sad to say, Carlin. It started 8 or so years ago with his tirade that "golf is a rich sport for rich f@cks, and we need to plow under every golf course on earth and build public housing," and has evolved to a purely Marxian, "the entire world exists to steal from and kill the poor for a handful of rich."
And the guy I think is very funny WITHOUT being skilled in the craft is Jon Stewart. When the writers [him included] get him a great line, he delivers it great, but in conversation or ad-libbing, the part where the comic brain is in flow state, he falls back on tried and true facial expressions or stock lines.

Miller and Black are both hilarious, but both in very different styles. Maher is about the most unfunny comedian I've ever seen. He's so far whacked that it's hard to not look at him like some kind of cartoon character anyway.

George Carlin and Chris Rock outstanding in political/social commentary/comedy. Bill Mahar is always good, but IMO not quite to the caliber of the other two. Lewis Black is the "new kid" on this block and he's pretty fantastic.
I've seen Black and Carlin in person. Would love to see the other two as well.

Miller, Maher, Black, and Rock are four of the funniest comedians around right now. I would like to throw Carlos Mencia into the mix as well, that is one funny racist S.O.B, but at least he tells the truth.
