"There has never been a time where there is more total spending and more wasteful spending in Washington than we have today," said Pat Toomey, a former Republican congressman from Pennsylvania and the head of the conservative Club for Growth.

Is there anything else to say...We've elected big-government RWNJ's who are bankrupting this country...and you cannot put one once of blame on the dems for that.

I disagree. I think most of them are in on it.
See Transportation Bill and all those that voted for it.

You are correct. But until the Dems have the stones to stand up and start voting against some of this crap or people then the CONS will always be able to point to the Dems as being 'at fault' because they are collaborators.

Oh yes, the sane days when people thought beanie babies were worth $500, and bringmemydinner.com was worth $200 a share.

This gets a nod as the most non-sequitor post ever.
I really don't care what beanie babies are/were worth.
I really do care about mortgaging my grandkid's future.

There was a term for that time period, "irrational exuberance."
Throughout, I told everyone [not here, here didn't exist then, in the real world] "there's gonna come a day when people figure out that beanie babies are just cute little pouches of filler and bringmemydinner.com is a shitty business model and shit is gonna hit the fan." It did, but we survived.
You can't deify an era when people throw money around like fools without accepting the hangover as part and parcel of it.
That's like being the brokedown dude outside the Casino and blaming someone else because you are no longer enjoying the days when you were at the high rollers table putting your retirement on 'red.'
