Gladys Kravitz was the nagging, irrepressibly nosy neighbor in the "Bewitched" (1964) sitcom.

The PTC is a bunch of crybaby puritans who don't recognize their TV has a v-chip and an off button. They want to decide what you should or should not see on TV, rather than leaving it to the market to decide.
