I really didn't listen to the TV announcers. Actually, I just figured Sharpe did something at half-time that made some people mad. I was listening to Mitch and Lenny, as I really didn't care to have the Sunday night crew.

Did ESPN go with a different crew all-together or something, since the regular Monday Night guys did the NO/ NYG game the next night? I really didn't follow much of the discussion and don't have a clue who actually broadcast our Sunday Night game.

With that said, was Sharpe really that bad? I don't think I'm even going to have the MNF crew on tonight either. I might listen to the Tv pre-game, but once the game comes on I think I'll prolly end up turning 101 on again...

Yeah, in my opinion, he was really bad. When he refers to the Raiders as "we" as in "we have to stop the Chiefs here" and says "The raiders defense is really playing for Randy Moss", that's just a little bit ridiculous.

Yes!

BSPimpDude agrees, Sterling Sharpe was in fact the worst most biased game commentator I have ever seen/heard.

It is okay for announcers to have favorite teams and players. To work in the industry it is almost requried that you be a fan. As a professional you try to hide your bias. Yes, he was obviously pulling for the raiders and beyond that he was sluggish as an annoucer but he is also new. I don't think he sucked for a new guy. Give him some time and he'll be more fluid and more able to hide that bias.

I ALWAYS listen to Mitch, Len and the crew, no matter who's doing the game on TV. But after Janet Jackson's little Super Bowl "malfunction," it makes it really hard when ESPN or ABC has a 2-3 second delay compared to the radio. CBS and FOX is about in synch with the radio, so that's at least managable, but Sunday and Monday night games are a bitch...and for that matter so is Janet.

This is not the first time he has been in front of the Tv talking about NFL games. He was a co-anchor for Espn before becoming a broadcaster so it's not like he didn't know he should report evenly about both teams.

I always listen to 101.

I want "our" guys calling the game for me.

Technically, I thought Sharpe was okay, in terms of speaking style and that sort of thing. He was just locked onto Randy Moss like a tick on a dog, and he wouldn't let go.

While we're railing against Sharpes, did anyone see the pre-game before the Eagles/Rai ders game on Sunday? I had to laugh, because Shannon Sharpe kept mixing up Randy Moss and Terrell Owens. At one point, he said something like this (I am not making this up).

"Randy Moss is mad. He's mad because they brought Terrell Owens to be a playmaker, and that's not happening. They're not using his talents. It's not like Terrell Owens in Philadelphia. In Oakland, they're just not using Terrell Owens, and he's not getting his touches."

He kept talking, and finally Boomer or somebody said, "You're talking about Randy Moss, right?"

I seriously wonder what the chump would do if it were not for football....You can't tell me anyone would hire him as a public announcer.

Well he did like what he was seeing from Randy after all.

As a 16 year radio vet...and I'm not saying I know everything about announcing at all..... he had more "crutches" that a medical supply store. But at least he only refferenced that one with a frequency that would make a porn star blush.

Sterling actually said Randy Moss makes the faiduh defense better.

During KC's NINE MINUTE drive in the third quarter, Sharpe continued to espouse the greatness of the faiduh D. "I really like what I'm seeing out there with the (ch)Oakland defense".... he repeated the mantra over & over, while KC chewed up the clock and drove the ball down the faid's throat. KC scored a FG on that drive... Sterling said it was a faiduh victory (even though the drive ate up NINE MINUTES of clock; keeping legendary all-universe wideout Randy Moss on the sideline).

Yeah, he sucked ass.

But it's not like he's the only one who was all over MOss' jock. Suzie Kolber went on & on about his greatness. The pregame was all Moss. Tirico polished his ass. It was simply a shite brodcast.... Sterling caught the most heat because, like his brother, he doesn't know how to STFU. Unlike his brother, he's a clear, concise orator. Shannon is a mumble-mouthed moron.

Heh, well if Randy Moss designs one you can bet Sterling will be in the front of the line. He'll be shilling that bad-boy all over the place.

"You know, Randy Moss makes my hot dog taste better. He makes my beer colder. He makes my special place tingle. Mmmmmmmm, Randy Moss. I just love saying it. It's like an aural orgasm. Raaaannnndy Mossssss. Ahhhhhhhhhh."

I agree, he was very good at commentating the Randy Moss show. I would like to hear how good he is at commentating a football game.

I think it was a crime that ESPN let him go and hired that half-wit Irvin to take his place.

On ESPN I really liked him.

Doing live play-by-play I wasn't impressed...

I agree all around. Sharpe's Moss love-fest was way over the top.
