These are much better deals than the $60 I paid for my NEC dvd burner last year. But it's been a good drive for me.

I've never installed anything in my PC, but I'd like to have the DVD burner capability. How difficult is it to install one of these? I've got an available slot.....

you are going to want to pull an existing drive and install the dvd burner in that slot. that way you will have your IDE and power cable right there to plug in and you can't mess it up. You really only need 1 drive if you have a DVD burner.

burn dvdWhat I mean is, if you are copying/backing-up your DVD collection, it is less time consuming to have 2 drives. Placing the movie in the DVD-rom drive and placing a DVD-R in the burner means you can start the program and walk away. No need to come back and put the blank DVD in...
