Could Not Be Found [Archive]

I have the following issue: just surfing the web, and I'll try to go to a different website. Nothing will happen for about a minute, then I'll get "www.whatever.com could not be found" error. I'll then try again, and it pops right up.

It's rather frustrating.

Any ideas?

sounds like firewall problems. try disabling your firewall and see if it still happens. ZoneAlarm in particular can go wonky and cause issues like that.

You are correct. I disabled Zone Alarm, and the issue went away.

So, are the settings incorrect or something?

hard to say... ZA has a history of freaking out and causing connectivity issues. Try uninstalling it and reinstalling or just going with a better software firewall.
