He meets my requirement as any warm body that plays DT. Brown and Dalton is a lot girth in the middle and should allow the DEs and LBs some more freedom.

This is good news. At least they are looking to improve the team. Brown seems a little long in the tooth, but he was always a mammoth player, who most resembles a bowling ball. I'll be very pleased if he can command a double team.

Oh yeah, I think he'd be effective. Maybe it'd make our run defense even better. But his effectiveness is that when he doesn't penetrate the backfield he's still just a giant man you can't move clogging up the middle. The biggest advantage we'd gain by it is we could go to a legit 3-4 I think.

You're always one injury away from problems at a lot of positions, it doesn't mean you can go out and sign guys to multi-year deals at all of them just to be safe. Sure in retrospect it would've been the right decision, but if got to base all the decisions off of retrospect we'd win the Super Bowl every year.

I am still calling bullshit. He interrupts his forward momentum and pushes him to the side. A block in the back would have used his forward momentum against him and pushed him to the ground face-first.

Q: Are you leaning toward putting Ryan Sims on IR and signing Gilbert Brown?

VERMEIL: “We’re in the process of evaluating all that right now. But Ryan Sims is making very good progress. We had a great medical report yesterday. They’re changing the cast and putting him in a walking-type cast. Then, there’s another evaluation process. But we do have to consider the evaluation process going to the point where all of a sudden (team doctor) Dr. Browne says, ‘you know something? This guy may not make it back this year.’ But you don’t wait for the doctor to tell you that somewhere down the road. You prepare now bringing people in and working them out and visiting with them.”

Q: Do you have a drop dead date?

VERMEIL: “No. Dr. Browne decides that.”

GoChiefs is right- legal hit. just look at the way his shoulder pads go and JR's hand is in front of the player. They are ticky tack on special teams, but on plays like this they are rarely going to call a player engaged around the line of scrimmage

Instead of worrying about how fat he is- just get his as fat as possible, and play him only on 1st down, goalline and short yardage plays. If he can cover both A gaps that will do a world of difference and let the LB's roam

That is a good block, but I want to see the alleged penetration he got at the line earlier in the play.

I want to see something other than block on someone who never really saw him coming, and his usual getting pushed around at the line.
