Will we see the Red Pants this Sunday?

This will be the first time we will be expected to wear our 'whites'. I can't imagine that I'll like the red pants, but it will be interesting to see.

Does anyone know if this is anything more than a rumor?

I think we will see the red pants this weekend.I saw an old clip today in which we were wearing the Red pants, and I think that they look sharp.Should be plenty of blood to go around and it will show up just fine on the jerseys. http://www.ChiefsPlanet.com/ubb/smile.gif

I've got "Warpaths, the illustrated History of the KC Chiefs" which has some photo's with the red pants and white shirts I think it looks sharp.

Thos snappy-looking pants will match the embarassed red faces of the Chiefs defense as Mike Anderson becomes the first player in NFL history to rush for 100+ yards in his first three starts. He'll likely also take over the NFL rushing lead from (cough) Tiki Barber on Sunday.

I can't believe how many of you want those red pants! Man, I just think they look so bad. I was so happy when they went away. I always liked the road "whites." They're just old school and basic. I think the only improvements that should be made to the uniforms is gray face masks ala Giants and Cardinals. White facemasks look "soft!"

I remember thinking in the early 90s, when the Chiefs would lose an important road game, it had to be those white pants. Marty always lost the big games in Cleveland when he had them wear their white pants. After due consideration, I realize, it might be the team, not the pants. I don't care what color pants they wear Sunday, just win.

Az,
I'm with you hear. IMHO, those red pants look RETARDED and outdated. I hated them 20 years ago and my opinion has not changed. I also remember how BAD those Chiefs teams were that wore them in the late '70's and early '80's.

So, you think the red pants were responsible for the Chiefs poor play?

I know that is not what you're saying Tx, but that's how the post looks.

If the Chiefs are going to break out the new uniforms, I would bet on the red pants makiing their debut.

Of course this is only speculation as there has been no official word from the Chiefs.

Remember, you saw it here first?

Response to post #4

DJay23 I think you'll really like the book it has some great photo's with some interesting reading. Not being born until 1970 those early Chiefs of the 60's and 70's were really intivative with the use of the moving pocket and the motion offense. I don't think I ever got enough credit for all that....Ha Ha.

What's the possibility that they show up with a flaming arrowhead on their helmets. It would be totally different. I don't know why but I had a dream that they did.

As a matter of fact, I got it today in the mail. It looks really sharp with real autographs from Lenny D and Lamar! http://www.ChiefsPlanet.com/ubb/smile.gif I can't wait to read it. It looks really well put together.

"Quack-quack. Quack quack"

"Disco....Disco Duck!"

What next, the Bee Gees doing the National Anthems?

Red pants gives the game to the Broncos. I don't think we ever won a game in Mile High wearing the Disco pants.

...and yes, the Chiefs played horrible in the late 70s and 80s BECAUSE of the pants!!!

NO RED PANTS PLEASE!!!! (begging on hands and knees)

All they remind me of is the "bad old days" of the 70's and 80's...

If the Chiefs come out in the red pants, and they don't return to the same play calling that we've seen prior to last weeks game, then they could help to ease the pain of the 70s and 80s teams that wore those red pants.
For me, however, poor play and losses notwithstanding, I've always liked the red pants. The white pants bring me the memory of playoff losses under Marty. Those losses have been much more painful to me. Those teams in the 70s and 80s may not have been very good, but thay were entertaining, and fun to watch. Or maybe that's just the way I want to remember them.

Could red pants get them in trouble with the fashion police when we go to San Francisco?

Yeah, I know not very PC but at least I didn't I didn't make any innuendoes about the Packers.
I don't like em. We sucked for all those years with those pants and as soon as we got rid of them after '88 we started winning. Call it superstition or whatever.

Still if they are going to wear them I say make them a duller red, not all shiny and make the stripes consistent with the rest of the uniform. Just two white stripes with a yellow one in the middle like on the sleeves.

I like the Red pants & hope they continue w/ them.
My only suggestion would be to update/change the stripe down the side. It looks a little busy to me but what do I know...

Two thumbs up
