It has been many years since I got completely obsessed with posting on this board, and it was my immense frustration with Marty S. and a guy named Elvis that drove me to seclusion. Still, after a game like the one I saw on Friday night.... well...I'M BAAAAAYYYYYAAAAAKKKK!!!! (Let it be known that I haven't missed a single game in over 20 years... I just got tired of the Boards). I hope there's lots of newbies and a few of the old gang still on board... Lemme know eh? SPORTSWAX is still alive and kicking, though I now reside in Santa Monica, CA.

The way he played that year when he got a chance he should have retired a long time before.

What's not to like? Vermeil's tendency toward teary eyes, I guess.
He seems genuine enough, though. I'm really happy with Trent Green overall, though he does have a bad game once in a while. He seems to have nerves of steel, though I hope they don't get him killed. Much better in my book, than say...Daunte Culpepper... who looks great one week and altogether uninspired the next. That guy just never seems to get a sense of urgency... while TG seems to have it all the time.

I'd like to see Gonzo a little more, and I have the standard gripe about Hall's brilliant returns getting negated by stupid penalties all the time.

Over all... I LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVVVVEEE the Chiefs (though I hope they do better against the Donks next time). Willie was out, and that's a good excuse every time.

Never better. I'm not in Florida anymore, but that's a positive as the next couple of Hurricanes bear down, eh? Where are you positioned? Hopefully far from danger. Ivan hit me where it hurts, and Dennis finished me off. I got out just before Katrina punctuated the deal. Candles are still held up in licensing, and they've already been "knocked off", though not quite the quality items we put forth. A little test marketing saw a few sales on eBay and at trade shows, but we were put on hold by NFLP while they attempted to force us to deal with Yankee Candles. For now, they can't legally put them out without us, and vice versa. A small company (that coincidentally had an opportunity to view our prototypes at the NFLP offices) put out some candles in jars that exploded and burned someone's house down... but that's as far as it went before I moved on. Still own the patent, though... and maybe one day!

Welcome Grback Sportswax. What happened with the storms in Fla? Are alot of people in that area packing up, and leaving?
A Lot are leaving... but maybe not evacuating as far away as I did. It is pretty awfull when everything you own gets flooded or just plain blows to smithereens.

I made it out okay, only losing about $200K in collectible I had picked up for a showcase I was sponsoring in Mobile, Alabama. It is not that easy to move from the Florida economy to California either. When I moved to Florida originally in 1994, I paid for six months lease payments with what was one payment in Marin County. It is six time harder to move in the other direction.

Now back to the Donks game. Both my teams won this weekend: Chiefs and Vikings. I'm on cloud nine. Hell, even Philly took out the Chargers.

A Broncos loss right now would complete my perfect weekend.

Thomas.....doing well?

I look for this week to be a tough one for KC...Marty will have the Bolts psyched for the game this week, but he will manage to let it slip away to Vermeil and Co.....I don't think Gunther will have studied the Eagle's game plan to stop LT, and he will have a pretty good game on us. But somehow we will manage to stop Gates & Brees leaving them one-dimensional again on Offense.

I do believe that the Eagles will stop the Donks the same way they stopped the Chargers...
