View Full Version : Football Jesus gets his own Intro on MNF

Ridiculous. The entire intro segment was dedicated to Vick, with a rap that was about nothing but Vick. Then they introduced Vick...BY HIMSELF. No offense intro. No defense intro. Just a football Jesus intro. Man oh man, talk about asking for some bad karma. The football gods aren't going to be happy. Football Jesus may have to be punished.

I will be interested to see if the black jesus/ron mexico can make it to a second progression tonight that isn't a dump to the TE or dump to the RB. I think tonight might be the night he pops his cherry on that.

I haven't seen a new intro to MNF yet that I haven't thought was horrible.

I can't wait for about 10 years from now when we hear the name Michael Vick and say, "oh yeah, he was pretty good." Kind of like with Randall Cunningham now.

Assuming he becomes a better pocket passer, he might be playing in 10 years.

And by that I mean, we'll forget about him until his name is brought up.

That's a huge assumption. I think as an actual quarterback he is below average. take away his legs and he's a back up.

He won't be doing squat in 10 years. His entire game is and always will be his legs. That makes him a 6 or 8 year player before injuries and age slow him down and make him useless.

I remember he was fast, but I don't remember him being so dominant. Perhaps I didn't utilize him properly.

I only remember that DT could get a sack on most passing plays.

ROFL Did anyone see that Jimmy Kimmel segment? That was actually kinda funny. He was talking to Lawrence Taylor about how Tomlinson is now "LT" and Taylor got up and threw a chair and started yelling into the camera saying he was coming for him and "Theismann got it easy compared to you!" or something like that. That was pretty good.

What I've learned watching a few Falcons games this year is..... DeAngelo Hall has guys beat him numerous times, gives up plays and in general isn't that good. But he gets hype as being good because he constantly runs his mouth and gets in guys faces.

Yep, I have noticed the same thing. For some reason they keep refering to the great game he had against TO when he gave up 112 yds.

Newbie official getting calls wrong. You can advance a fair catch if the ball hits the ground.

- If ball hits ground OR is touched by member of kicking team in flight, fair catch signal is off and all rules for a kicked ball apply.

Even if this isn't the case, and he still considers the signal valid....

- Any undue advance by a fair catch receiver is delay of game. No specific distance is specified for undue advance as ball is dead at spot of catch. If player comes to a reasonable stop, no penalty. For violation, five yards.

So by his call it should have been a penalty, but right call would have been to let the advance stand, no?

Kinda like how Steve McNair didn't have any weapons yet Drew Bennett quickly become the top producing WR in the league last year once Volek took over. And D.Mason posted Pro Bowl numbers.

He's not a good passer. If you're denying the fact that he adjusts how a defense plays, you're clueless though. He works for that system and whether you like it or not, their record is considerably better with him under center than without.

I knew you were...but I wasn't.

Have they been better with him than without? Sure but look who the without QB's have been...Journeyman bums that haven't even been good enough to hold a job in the league outside of Atlanta...Kurt Kittner and Doug Johnson. Now they have a real NFL QB behind him in Schaub that won't be the case once Schaub gets a tad bit of experience.

Oh, they adjust to him. They adjust by breaking his leg, spraining his knee, picking off his passes, etc.

You want the KC O to "be adjusted to" the same way ATL's is? Put Sammy Parker at QB. He can probably throw as well as FJ can.

And did anyone else see the bit where he was saying "How do you give two women herpes at the same time? You need two cell phones...". Man that guy is an asshat.

Here are his numbers in the two games when he faced top rated offenses:

2004 KC:

7 for 21 119 yards 0 TD's 2 INT's

2003 INDY:

6 for 19 47 yards 0 TD's and 1 INT

That gives you a good idea as to what he is about in must pass situations.
