Dolphins | Saban Wants to Fly Game Day from KFFL.com
Tue, 25 Oct 2005 17:50:48 -0700

Jason Cole, of the Miami Herald, reports Miami Dolphins head coach Nick Saban wants the team to fly to Baton Rouge for their Week 8 game on game day. However, the NFL requires teams to fly in the day before games and had never made an exception until Friday, Oct. 21, when Kansas City played at Dolphins Stadium in advance of Hurricane Wilma. The Dolphins are having a hard time finding hotel rooms in Baton Rouge because LSU plays the night before.

Coincidence??

Set 'em up with some tents and sleeping bags. Ricky Williams could beg for change. :D

You would think the hotels would have been taken care of as soon as the game was announced.

NFL will never let this happen. It would only be a matter of time until some team had flight problems and could not make the game. The Chiefs got a waiver due to extenuating circumstances. It will not happen unless there are similar circumstances in my opinion. The NFL can not afford the chance of a cancellation.

You've got a point. They wouldn't know the team wasn't going to show until fans were already in the parking lots. Can you imagine telling 80,000 people that the game's been cancelled? I can only imagine the carnage.

It wouldn't surprise me if Denver tried to fly to Dallas Thanksgiving morning or if Chicago tried to fly to Green Bay Christmas morning.
