Anyone else just get a text message on their Sprint phone?

"Dial *2 on your Sprint PCS phone to download an important service update for free. Wait for a brief message. Once completed, hang up."

WTF is that all about?

*2 is Sprint Customer Care and is a free call.

Generally what this means is that there have been network changes that your phone does not have the software downloaded to use. One example could be new towers.

If you call customer service, before it connects you there will be voice prompts telling you that your phone is being updated. It generally takes about 10 seconds I believe.

It's not a virus issue or anything.

Very cool upgrade.

Bob Dole went ahead and placed the call. 1 minute and 23 seconds. Hung up and put the phone on the charger and went back 5 minutes later and opened the phone and found a fresh waffle.

A waffle is like a pancake, with little syrup traps.

Was there syrup on the waffle or did you have to go get some?

Bob Dole always has a good supply of Griffin's on-hand for any situation that might arise.

That's bullshit, though. It should have come with syrup. I'm not using Sprint anymore. In fact, I'm so annoyed that I'm unintentionally using italics now.

Sprint's network in Houston was unbeatable. Nary a problem in 5+ years. I don't think they've figured out trees and hills or something. The 6 months of torture where I was forced to endure a Sprint phone in KC nearly pushed me over the edge.

Talked with Sprint/Nextel doing Survey...they .gave me 60 min/phone next mo. bonus.

Sprint/nextel customers can call each other anytime free no minutes charged. $5/mo. on top of your plan.

Asked about the *2. only sprint got the message.
