my friend and I have planned one. Fitzmas didn't let us down. Hopefully he will still indict the Brain.

Well, I have to say that rejoicing in possible corruption in the government because it's politically expedient to you definitely shows what you are made of.

Correction, it's rejoicing of the EXPOSURE of the corruption of government.
I've argued the PNAC/lying angle of this story for three years. It's nice to see that now the COUNTRY will be forced to face this issue and the lies about Iraq. And the only way that happened was the exposure of the corruption behind the war effort.
No one is celebrating the corruption...especially since it helped kill so many people. :cuss:
I've been thinking the whole time this stuff has been going on that it would be hilarious if this story turned into another fizzle for you lefties. A gay reporter type of fizzle. You think you've caught the big fish and turns out you didn't even catch a tree branch.
I don't think that'll be the case this time, but if it is don't think I won't be over here laughing my ace off.

The Jeff Gannon story isn't over yet...his angle might still be uncovered with this story's exposure.

You had to do something with all the leftovers from your Deathcount Party 2K so it might as well be this.

Nope. No party or dancing for this horrific milestone. Hopefully today's events will ensure we don't get to 3k.

I'm betting it WILL be the case. This will be an underwhelming day for the Bush-haters even though they will try to spin it into much more.

Just as I predicted, spinning an underwhelming result into much more. Where are all the security related indictments? What about the Niger documents? What about lying to get us into war? When is Karl Rove's execution? Where are the Cheney indictments?
Enjoy your "a relatively unknown WH official was indicted today" party though.

It's nigh impossible to dance while exposing nothing but your eyes or hands, sinner...

It's not underwhelming at all. It very well could be the opening of the proverbial "can of worms."
Clearly Cheney is more involved than any conservatives want to admit plus, there must be a reason that Rove is assembling a legal team to fight possible future indictments.
These charges just might be the first step in restoring transparency to our government. The Cheneyburton administration is in serious jeopardy of being totaly exposed. Not that it will do any good. The same bunch essentially got away with Iran-Contra.
Of course, if we had a partisan independent counsel with subpeona powers (ala, Ken Star) we might actually get to the bottom of all the bullshit in this White House. Where is good ol' Kenny Boy when it really matters.
After all, Libby resorted to deception for a reason, right?

Yes, the same group did get away with Iran-Contra and they might get away with this too.
But, I'd like to think that thinking Americans will not be so quick to support the WH in the future when they start beating war drums. They will have the lies and illegality behind Iran-Contra and then the lies and deception behind the Iraq war...
perhaps, maybe it's wishful thinking, they might think twice about trusting our goverment's pushing so hard for war in the future.

I thought that today was the day that the worms were finally going to be revealed. No wonder I'm so disappointed.

Clearly more involved? It looks to me like Cheney is about as involved as I'd expect him to be. That is to say, not at all involved in criminal activitiy.

Ah, still clinging to hope I see. Well, when you get no real satisfaction from the actual indictments, I guess clinging to hope is your only option.
I'm sure Libby had reasons for his actions, but I don't think it's clear that they implicate the entire "neocon cabal." If Libby actually lied, perhaps he did so to protect himself because he thought, incorrectly, that he'd broken some obscure 1982 law. There are all kinds of possible reasons for Libby to have allegedly lied.

However, I guess I should "celebrate" when illegal acts are punished properly; bad people shouldn't get away with bad things. Of course, we don't know if he was guilty of anything yet...

Again, no one is celebrating the illegal acts. Rather, the transparency of them. We SHOULD celebrate that our government is not above reproach and that when they act illegally or unethically that their actions are brought to light and the possibility of justice to be served...
this is the most shining example of the brillance of this country than anything we've done in Iraq or in the name of 'democracy.'
Also, major kudos to John Ashcroft for doing the right thing and not taking on this investigation so wrong doings could be investigated fairly and exposed as needed. He could have worked to cover this up as well...
the man has a shred of integrity afterall. If RWNJs want to be angry they should be at him because he could have made this thing go bye-bye two years ago.
